To go with a very common surname beginning with S.

Love the alliteration of Sukie with your surname!

MajesticWhine · 10/12/2015 12:46

I like both, but especially Sukie.

LydOak · 10/12/2015 13:16

Prefer Francesca to Susannah, but Sukie to Frankie

Frankie is a boys name to my ears, I know a little Frank nickname Frankie.

I prefer Suki - is it Japanese?

MajesticWhine · 10/12/2015 15:18

If you like both Francesca and Susannah enough to use either as a first name, then maybe you want to save one in case you have another DD? (sorry - might not be relevant if you already have 14 children and this is your last)

AlwaysLookOnBrightsideOfLife · 12/12/2015 15:46

Sukie is a drink in NI which gives bias to my opinion. I prefer Frankie & Francesca as the longer version.

Suzietwo · 12/12/2015 15:48

I love sukie and it was a hot contender to one of mine but....we didn't because it's an abbreviation of a name we didn't like.

Frankie i also love but ruled out for same readon

ElinorRochdale · 12/12/2015 15:53

Sukey is an old short form of Susannah, as in the rhyme 'Polly put the kettle on'.

I like both Susannah and Francesca, but I think the two together might be a bit heavy. I'd go for a shorter, simpler middle name.

On purely practical grounds, if you're filling in a form, there isn't always room for two long names!

Depends what accent you have- in my lancastrian tones, both sound pretty bad. Midlands possibly as bad. Scottish - lovely. Home counties - pretty nice....
