I think it's slightly too matchy

Leanne and Noah
Lilian and Noah
Layla and Noah

Or
Noelle and Leon
Noelle and Lenny/ Leonard

Layla is lovely I wanted to call my youngest Lola but DH wouldn't let me because of the Kinks song.

I still think Leigh (if it's pronounced as Lee? ) is nice. My youngest has a masculine nick name so that's probably why I like it so much.

Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 16:41

It's pronounced Le-ah

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 04/12/2015 16:43

Lyla and Noah?
Lily and Noah?

The Leah I know is pronounced Li-ah.

MrsGradyOldLady · 04/12/2015 16:43

Leigh is?

That's another word I've been mispronouncing all my life then!

Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 16:52

Oh, Leigh is pronounced as 'Le', sorry!

OP posts:
Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 16:53

Lily is lovely! I know I would end up saying Lils though, so Noah would end up as Nos!

Footle · 04/12/2015 17:03

Leah and Noah. Excellent !

NadiaWadia · 04/12/2015 17:24

It's a nice name. Some people pronounce as Lee-ah and some as Lay-ah, I believe. Noelle would be far too confusing with Noah!

There is also Leila or Lila/Lilah?

Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 17:26

I hope people say Le-ah! I don't see where they would get the y from

OP posts:
NadiaWadia · 04/12/2015 17:28

Well you know English isn't very logical!

MrsJayy · 04/12/2015 17:30

Its pronounced Le ah i dont think anybody would put a y in it

NadiaWadia · 04/12/2015 17:30

But in the UK I think most people would assume 'Lee-ah' so you're OK.

NadiaWadia · 04/12/2015 17:33

I was looking up a singer or musician the other day, her name was Leah and people were saying 'Lay-ah'. Can't remember who it was now, but she was American anyway. I also think they say 'Lay-ah' in France, maybe. It is not unheard of. But most Brits seem to say 'lee-ah' like I said.

Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 17:39

Good Smile there names are decided! Now a new thread for middle names Grin

How about Sarah?
It's old testamenty like Leah (which I love) and Noah, plus NO ONE calls their children Sarah nowadays, so she wouldn't be one of many.

SunnySomer · 04/12/2015 17:41

Oops, didn't read the full thread!

Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 17:46

Sarah is nice, but it's DH's sister!

OP posts:
MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 04/12/2015 17:55

I think the traditional Hebrew pronunciation is Lay-ah but in the UK it's Lee-ah/Li-a/Le-ah (all pronounced pretty much the same!).

What did you choose in the end then?

Bluesicles · 04/12/2015 17:59

I'm going for Noah and Leah and I'm waiting for people to answer my other thread about middle names :)
