Friend copying baby name...

Hello - so, I'm not sure if anyone who reads this also read my other threat, but I gave birth to a little boy this morning - Archie Matthew and I have met many mums-to-be at various classes. Once I announced the birth, one of my friends messages me and says "oh my gosh, I can't believe it - Archie Matthew is the name I want to call my son" which I find hard to believe as she was pretty set on Eduardo Philip and they seem kinda different names to me and it's a bit of a coincidence! Sorry, it's just a little frustrating! Has anyone been in the same boat?

You also posted today asking whether people like the name Bruno?

Confused

This thread could get really interesting...

FoxesSitOnBoxes · 19/11/2015 22:54

In fairness to op she did start a thread yesterday about the name Archie. Already said it had been decided but she also wondered about Noah, middle name had been decided.

Thatrabbittrickedme · 19/11/2015 23:12

Given Archie is in the top 20 boys names of 2015, you are amongst good company/taste in names and also you will have to get used to other children having the same name as your DS.

All that matters is that you are happy with your choice, your DS is here safe, sound and awesome, forget about everything else and enjoy your newborn Thanks

I made a thread yesterday asking about the name and yes, I did comment on that person's post - I obviously liked the name... So, I wrote it - I don't care if people have the same name as him, the ones who genuinely wanted that name, hence I chose that persons name choice, as that's the one I preferred and that was what they were asking for. Also, I did as what people thought on Bruno? What's wrong with that!? I'm not saying I'm thinking of calling my child Bruno... I was wondering what people's thoughts were as they were other suggestions by DH and I was just making sure I'm 100% on Archie Matthew - which I am, but was just seeing if it had any positive response. Honestly, I'm not fussed what people on here want to think, judge away - if that's what you want to spend your time doing - analysing my activity on here - go ahead and keep doing it :)

This is some one you met recently at pre-natal classes for the first time who also wants to name their baby Archie? Archie was the 35th most popular name so chances are you are going to meet quite a few. Enjoy your newborn

FrostyRose · 20/11/2015 05:22

It's not Archie that I'm fussed about, but that she has gone from Eduardo Philip - Archie Matthew...

and I'm confused about how you've gone from Archie Matthew to Bruno... Hmm

This is not a witch hunt! If you have just had a baby then many congratulations to you. I just wanted to encourage a bit of perspective here. You're terribly upset that a friend also wants to name her baby Archie Matthew, and how coincidental that is, however you're also well aware that a user on here just two days ago (before you had your baby) expressed an interest in calling her baby Archie Matthew or Archie William.

Just saying.

FrostyRose · 20/11/2015 06:32

It's not the name!!! It's just the fact that she's a friend and just changed her name as soon as I announced it! Wow, why don't people understand that!? Bruno is something my husband suggested and he said to me when we got home "oh I do still really like Bruno" so it just made me think about the name and thank you for the congratulations, he's an absolute blessing

Birth certificate should read-

'Archie Matthew The First'

Sar1984 · 29/11/2015 12:04

I can totally understand the first name but not both.
It's bloody ridiculous. I don't mean to be immature but I was up in arms about this happening to me with a pet.. I know it's not the same but when you feel like something's deliberate it has a way of getting under your skin.
In my situation I was deleted off her fb then she copied my pets name. I know it's ridiculous but it's hurtful when people disregard your feelings. I wouldn't be friends with her after this. My pets name was unique aswell so she defiantly copied me.
