Congratulations, I'd go for Alexander known as Alex. Cameron just makes me think David, sorry.

FatRun · 03/11/2015 22:41

Yes I think Alexander too, for the same reasons

FatRun · 03/11/2015 22:42

And congrats!

BBQueen · 03/11/2015 22:43

Aaah, lovely tiny fresh baby. Alexander for me too, for the same reasons as PP.

Twistedheartache · 03/11/2015 22:45

Cameron
Love Alex too but I've met 5 under 18 months recently

IoraRua · 03/11/2015 22:46

Cameron. Loads of Alex/Alexanders!

Sophronia · 04/11/2015 00:37

Alexander "Alex"

MistressMerryWeather · 04/11/2015 00:44

Cameron.

Hopefully the David association will be gone by the time he's a teenager.

For my love of Ferris Bueller alone.

Let my Cameron goooo...

Redglitter · 04/11/2015 00:46

Cameron - much nicer than Alex

reuset · 04/11/2015 02:57

Cameron is just horrid, PM aside. Usually pronounced with the middle syllable missing entirely and I'm certain that's not correct. That's why you see the occasional Cam'ron Shock Nice meaning too if you set any store by meanings.

Alexander by 100 country miles.

reuset · 04/11/2015 03:00

Nope, I think it will take more than a decade or so before 'call me Dave' associations disappear.

celtictoast · 04/11/2015 09:28

Alexander/Alex

Archer26 · 04/11/2015 09:39

Cameron. My 6 month DS is allied this and he's the only one I know. It's not crazy unusual but there's unlikely to be 5 of them in the class. We shorten DS's to Cam.

Sparkle011215 · 04/11/2015 10:25

I love the name Alexander with the nicknames Alex or Xander- very handsome names x

Vixxfacee · 04/11/2015 10:26

Cameron Alexander is a lovely name.

InkleWinkle · 04/11/2015 10:35

Both good but Alex is my slight preference.

MitzyLeFrouf · 04/11/2015 15:32

Alex. Just Alex.

Alexander is a bit smug.

I used to go out with a Cameron so think of him before I think of Dave. But to be honest neither of them are men I like being reminded of.

Narp · 04/11/2015 18:11

Alex

spankhurst · 04/11/2015 18:13

Alex/ander, Cameron is the PM.

CarrieT36 · 04/11/2015 21:19

Cameron. Not keen on Alex but Alexander ok as a middle name.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/11/2015 21:21

Cameron

Quite like Alexander nn Xander or Al but really dislike Alex.

WooLulu · 05/11/2015 09:36

I called my son (now 2) Alexander. It wasn't on our list - we chose it on the way back from the hospital. We went for it because:

  • we have a short surname,
  • lots of nn possibilities (Alex, Sandy, Zander etc)
  • it's quite an international name - you could be Greek or Australian and you'd know how to pronounce it.

I couldn't use Cameron now I'm afraid.

WooLulu · 05/11/2015 09:39

Ps he's the only Alexander in his group at nursery - weird but it's not that common. He calls himself 'Ali' but don't know if that's because he's not got the hang of 'x's yet.

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 08/11/2015 00:09

Just don't go for both together (as in Alex for first name, Cameron for middle) as this is the name of call-me-Dave's brother.

I prefer Alexander which is my DS' middle name.

NotMeNotYouNotAnyone · 08/11/2015 14:27

Cameron is a fab name and very quickly you won't think of anything except your DS, and if you name him that and he's a person with the name rather than just s potential name people will think of it as his name rather than someone else

But Alexander is also a good name too
