My actual name is reasonably identifiable and I need a very neutral name to use on the phone. The branch I work at currently has a direct line number.

What would you consider to be safe, neutral, easy to remember/classless name?

Well done you. How about Anna or Miriam?

GrinAndTonic · 25/10/2015 22:15

Deanna. Only because Star Trek is on tv and she was the ships counsellor so it seems appropriate.

Would never have thought of Jade but Wish is right, it covers a lot of groups. I was also going to suggest Ann. Sarah does also seem pretty broad in appeal.

Sophia/zofia covers a few different groups too I believe.

Eachleechsparethumb · 26/10/2015 08:48

Rose or Lily? Flower names are universal

dynevoran · 26/10/2015 08:53

Was just going to say Sophia and variations of it cover quite a few cultures and nationalities. Jade also good.

Hannah
Sophia
Anita

StompyFreckles · 26/10/2015 10:23

Or Nina.

Personally, I'd go for Hannah / Hana / Hanna that covers different cultures well.

Sarah, Anna and Marie cross several cultures I think.

Maggie

Sam. Short for Samaritan, short and easy. I think pretty much all of us at the branch were Sam!

'Ruth' has a rather nice double meaning, as the word 'ruth' in English also means pity, or compassion.

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 28/10/2015 16:41

Is there a name that transcends all cultures and religions?

Sara.

LynetteScavo · 28/10/2015 19:26

I wouldn't want to pour my heart out to a Jade (sorry to anyone called Jade!)

I think Ruth, Helena, Miriam, Beth are all suitable.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 29/10/2015 11:56

Kim.

MitzyLeFrouf · 29/10/2015 13:33

I think Jo is a reassuring kind of name. The name of a kindly and practical person.

moggle · 29/10/2015 13:53

Yes, Jo. Definitely Jo.
