It's 'absolute' I think you'll find Op.

I'd take a break for this highly emotive subject of....baby namesConfused

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 13/10/2015 21:18

I only came in to say I quite like the name Blake for a girl.

Wine Cake [popcorn]
I am ready for some light entertainment.

LumelaMme · 13/10/2015 21:28

I usually come on baby name threads when I want something nice and restful and happy.

Not the OP slagging off people who give opinions on baby names.

Evening all
May we point you all in the direction of the Talk Guidelines.?
They are conveniently located just about the talk box on every thread.
Bit of peace and love never goes astray, eh?
Thanks ever so

Everyone thinks it's shite, op. Don't ask for opinions if you just want affirmation. It's really really shite.

SunshineAndShadows · 14/10/2015 10:38

To be fair to the OP TRexing is being unnecessarily rude - saying 'It's an improvement on Riley for a girl' is unnecessarily rude about a little girl who already has her name. Its fine to have an opinion - that's what this board is about but its perfectly possible to express an opinion on the name the OP actually asked about without being snide about her existing daughter's name.

Also for *TRexing to say:
"If you like it, you probably should try to give much less of a toss what other people think." in her first post is just unhelpful - surely the whole point of the baby names boards is to gather other people's opinions if every poster took TRexing's 'advice' there would be no baby name threads.

An TRexing your recent post:

I think I'm someone answering the fucking question you asked, you fuckwit. Honestly, I can't tell if you're just a moron or a troll. Clearly a complete bell-end, obviously, I'm just not sure if it's on purpose.

Really? you've been snide aggressive and rude on this thread from the start, I'm not sure what it is about the OP that's generated such a disproportionate response from you, but you might want to go and chill out a bit, rather than slamming someone who simply asked for an opinion on a name

squoosh · 14/10/2015 11:57

Calling the OP a 'fuckwit', a 'moron', a 'troll' and a 'bell-end' all in one post?

Calm the fuck down you angry little person.

squoosh · 14/10/2015 12:00

I'm afraid I really actively dislike both those names. Not saying I dislike your actual children, or you, or your freedom to call your DCs what you want. Just saying I dislike those names seeing as you asked.

But she didn't ask for opinions on her daughter Riley's name did she? She asked for an opinion on the name Blake.

But you know that, you just wanted to get a snide little dig in anyway.

MackerelOfFact · 14/10/2015 12:21

I like Blake for a boy but not for a girl.

How about Blythe?

whatdoIget · 14/10/2015 12:55

I thought there was a convention on baby names not to be rude about names that are already given to children? It's not very nice is it?

Iagreewithmrsdevere · 14/10/2015 12:58

Servalan for a girl, obviously, not Blake.

SuckingEggs · 14/10/2015 13:02

Blake for a girl just doesn't work. Brooke, as pp said, is better.

Just saying I dislike those names seeing as you asked.

Oh sure. A 'just saying' and a crossed out bit of nonsense (she didn't ask for opinions on her first daughter's name). Double whammy of recognised signifiers of snideness on MN.

Well done you!

Posey01 · 14/10/2015 13:30

Beautiful name.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 14/10/2015 13:31

Wow this is the thread that keeps on giving.

Iagreewithmrsdevere · 14/10/2015 15:00

Nobody getting the Servalan connection? Have I spelt it wrong?
