My DP and I disagree on most names but both love this one. Just curious what people thought of it really!

It's awful

I Would never be brave enough to use it but actually I think it's quite sweet. And if you're going to pick an unusual name one which has a more normal nickname (Holly) is probably a good call.

Holliday Grainger was my first thought.

I quite like it actually but I'd never use it. The gags would be neverending.

Simple and sweet... No, seriously, it really isn't; it's unbelievably awful.

What about Billie?

I know a Holliday he's a grown man and it suits him but he is quite quirky. People are baffled by it though as it is so unusual, I personally wouldn't use it.

Another vote for Hollie or Holly. No need for the "day" at the end.

You are naming a real live person not a cat.

I love Holliday Grainger.

People will remember it, that's for sure.

No, sorry. It's not a name

Lunastarfish · 26/09/2015 16:18

I like it but I'm not brave enough to bestow it on my child.

It would be a good name for a perky heroine in a 1950s detective novel.

I quite like it, but not with two Ls.

My niece has a friend called Holiday.

Terrible, and I say that as a huge, ''Breakfast at Tiffany's' fan too.

Report
PrincessMarcheline · 26/09/2015 16:38

I like it. But with one 'l'.

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/09/2015 16:40

Really, really stupid.

Sorry, I just laughed out loud. Of course not - it's not a name. Call her Holly if you like it.

Report
SilverOldie2 · 26/09/2015 18:22

Ha ha ha ha ha. No, it's beyond ghastly.

Report
mathanxiety · 27/09/2015 03:28

I like it a lot, with the two Ls.

I wouldn't use it myself -- I went for family names, but it wouldn't be out of the ordinary at all where I am. I like Hollis too.

Well I absolutely love it Grin it's been on my shortlist for a while but DH wouldn't go for it and I don't think I could take people's 'oh!' reactions etc. and knowing my family wouldn't like it! Cringe. Not brave enough.

I see it as a totally different word to Holiday. I actually hear of it first on another thread on MN so you're not the only one to consider it :)

I really like it! Not spelled like that but it sounds nice.
