What do you think of this name?

I haven't heard of it before, so I would have to guess at the spelling if I heard it over the phone got example. It doesn't offend me though.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 18/09/2015 13:32
  • for example
Tiggeryoubastard · 18/09/2015 13:33

Not a name. Awful.

TwmSionCati · 18/09/2015 13:35

it sounds made up and reminds of 'Kinell' which is what we say at home when we don't want to swear too much.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 18/09/2015 13:35

I haven't heard of it - is it for a boy or girl?

I've heard of Kingsley which is inoffensive enough for a boy.

Not keen on Kinsley though, sorry.

Tiggeryoubastard · 18/09/2015 13:36

Would go well with kayden.

TwmSionCati · 18/09/2015 13:39

Kingsley is OK.
Kayden - is that a name?

YouBastardSockBalls · 18/09/2015 13:40

Sounds a bit chavvy THERE I SAID IT

twmsioncati my dog it called twm!

Tiggeryoubastard · 18/09/2015 13:41

It passes for one in certain circles.

lottiegarbanzo · 18/09/2015 13:41

I'd think you couldn't spell Kingsley.

It is equally suggestive of Kinsey - the great sexologist.

nauticant · 18/09/2015 13:42

Awful. I can't even think whether it would be for a boy or a girl.

It would work for a small depressed post-industrial Northern town though.

Twinkie1 · 18/09/2015 13:43

absolutely fucking dreadful.

TwmSionCati · 18/09/2015 13:46

" my dog it called twm! "

Ci da iawn!

FoxesSitOnBoxes · 18/09/2015 13:49

Do you mean Kingsley? I'm not keen on that but Kinsley is worse (sorry)

Sophronia · 18/09/2015 14:02

It sounds very American, I've also seen Kinsey, Tinsley, Tinley etc. used there (usually for girls).

SmugairleRoin · 18/09/2015 16:12

Oh god no. No, no, no, no.

Reminds me of
A) Kinsey test
B) Kingsley in HP (who I love but it's a difficult name to pull off)
C) a surname
D) a small, dull town

YouBastardSockBalls · 18/09/2015 16:20

Ci da iawn!

Ci defaid newydd! Mae o mor del! Twm bach Grin

RedToothBrush · 18/09/2015 16:52

Its a K name.

Not for the moment as K names are thought of in a certain way at the moment.

Doesn't matter if its Kinsley or Kingsley.

SoupDragon · 18/09/2015 16:53

It makes me think of someone wimpish and somewhat effeminate.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/09/2015 20:16

Awful. Do Kingsley if you must but Kinsley just looks as if you got the name wrong.

Lolimax · 18/09/2015 20:20

I think I'm in the minority here but I like it!

TPel · 18/09/2015 20:32

Is it a name?

fortifiedwithtea · 18/09/2015 20:38

My cousin changed to his first name to Kingsley. It has special significance in our family. Our Great Grandma had to have the doctor out to her for the birth of her twins. The doctors surname Kingsley. The name has been handed down the generations since as a middle name.

OP weren't not related, are we? WinkGrin

DaleTremont · 18/09/2015 20:56

I live near Kinsley Greyhound Stadium, so it's a no from me.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 18/09/2015 21:14

Kayden certainly is a name. If you've never met one, visit this part of the Midlands and you'll meet one or many.

I don't find Kinsley very easy to say TBH, and it wouldn't work with quite a few surnames. I don't actively dislike it though, I've certainly heard worse names.
