Lucy, Frances, Emmeline or Florence? So stuck!!

I have got completely stuck on naming our DD3. DD1 has really unusual name, less than 20 of same name in year of her birth, DD2 has classic but not common name quite different to DD1. We had loved Florence from the start but DD2's name starts with F and also it seems to keep coming up on names that seem really popular at present. Also like Emmeline, Frances and then DH threw in Lucy. It's a bit dull, but we both really like it. Any thoughts?! Ideal name is classic or unusual but not 'of the moment'. Can see why people like them, but personally can't bear Ava, Evie, Lily, Poppy, Mia etc. I know Lucy may be quite like these but hypocritically still quite love it.

Frances.

I know two little Emmelines, seven or so little Florences, five Lucys and no little Franceses. If it's rarity you're going for, Frances has it!

  • "little" being under seven. I know quite a few older Franceses and Lucys... But they're thirties, forties and fifties!

Emmeline by miles and miles! Love it

I love Frances. DH vetoed alas

I'm afraid Lucy is just about the drippiest name. I've always thought it's twee and simpering.

Frances is gorgeous!

Frances.

I like Frances and Emmeline. Florence is pretty but I think will date. Lucy is not IMO a nice name at all. I find it twee and drippy and very 70s. It is not in the same class as the others at all. And to my ears it's very much like those twee names you say you dislike such as Poppy and Lily.

If you like classic, understated and uncommon then it's got to be either Frances or Emmeline. If your other dds have these sort of names then don't let poor dd3 be the only one with a drippy name.
Alternatively, what about Evangeline? Or Camilla?

Lucy is a bit dull IMO - I went to school with a lot of them (80s/90s!) and it's a bit last generation to me. However I do agree that at least it's not at Ava / Mia / Poppy levels of over-use. But there are so many different opinions on this one - just goes to show, ignore us all and go with your heart!
Florence and Emmeline are my favs for what it's worth - I do like Emmie at the moment. Frances is kinda cool, but is a much less feminine name that the others. It would be my third choice of these.
