Milena for a girl?

We want something slightly unusual but not weird. I like the name Milena partly because it can be abbreviated to Millie. My hesitation is that we're fairly British as a family, our son has a Hebrew name so we're not averse to 'foreign' sounding names, but just wondering what opinions or thoughts or reactions you lovely and honest mumsnetters have to this name?

Coil didn't cross my mind.

I have two friends named Milena (mill-EH-na) and it was on our list along with Maribel. Love them both.

I know a beautiful little Polish girl called Milena- I think it's really pretty and unusual.

How about Marlene, pronounced Mar-lay-na as in Dietrich. Although you might get people pronouncing it like Boycey's wife! It's a beautiful name though.

My first thought was the Mirena contraceptive too. That's a "no" from me.
