Angelica, Angelina or plain old Angela?

What do you think? I think our favourite is Anglica, though I find myself warming more to Angela and I think it could be pretty and fresh? I wonder if Angela is still too outdated at the moment?

Nothing plain about Angela. It's very elegant and very unusual now. Defiinately due a come back

I don't like Angelica. It reminds me of the garish 1970's cake decoration.

Angela, definitely. Angelina is a mouse in my world and Angelica is the mean cousin in rugrats. Although they could both be lovely names and I just watch too much children's TV

Strongly pro-Angela of the three. I agree with lighthouse it is very elegant. The other two I find very frilly/fussy. I also think the angel part of the name comes through much more strongly.

Angela is unusual now. It reminds me of the 70s but for her generation it would be nice and less Jolie. Don't think its due a comeback for some time but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Angelica is the nasty older sister in Rugrats.

I find Angela very dated. I'm in my early 40s and it was very popular when I was at school and those that didn't have it as a first name picked it as a confirmation name Angelina is probably the one I like the most, actually I think it's quite nice.

Angelica is the most beautiful name in the entire world, that's mostly because it's MY name I've only met people older than me called Angela, but I have a cousin on the Italian side of the family named Mariangela, which I think is lovely.

What about Angelene or Angeline?

Evangeline I wouldn't choose necessarily but much nicer than any of the OP's, IMO.

Angela is very 80s and dated, either Angelica or Angelina are both marginally better but not by much sorry! Evangeline is nice though?

Can't stand Angela. So dated and not cool for the poor kid.
Angelina on the other hand is quite nice with options of nicknames that aren't just Angie! Such as Lina which is quite elegant.
I think Angelica is a nice name, and quirky and different without being too outlandish.

I think Angela is of the same era as Sharon, Tracey, Denise etc - not ready for a comeback and probably never should be

My phone just suggested Angelie when I typed Angelina, that's pretty too!

Angela is the lady who ran the corner shop in the village when I was a child and smoked 40 a day... in the shop. So I don't think Angela is due a revival for another generation! I do like Angelica actually.

I really love Angelica. And I watched Rug rats. I don't think many kids do now.
