What is the general feeling on the name Lucy?

It's the only name DP and I can agree on. But as our DD1 has a fairly unusual name it feels a little boring in comparison.

Really like Lucy, very pretty

Mehitabel6 · 02/08/2015 07:38

Lovely name.

Bohemond · 02/08/2015 07:41

It is my name but I have the French spelling with an e. I love it.

NoMilkNoSugar · 02/08/2015 07:41

I've always loved this name, but our surname ruled it out for DD Sad

Kikimoon · 02/08/2015 08:56

Prefer Lucia

sweetpeame · 02/08/2015 09:16

It's fine but dull. Not likely to offend anyone but not very exciting either. Which is fine I suppose!

hawkmcqueen · 02/08/2015 09:20

I think it is a super name, elegant, simple and classy. Understated but pretty!

Pixi2 · 02/08/2015 09:21

DH and I agreed before we were married that any dd we had would be Lucy. Then dsis had a girl and guess what name she used? It's a lovely name. She's known affectionately as Lulu now.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 02/08/2015 09:24

Lovely name. Popular but not common (as in overused).

My ds1 has a v v unusual first name not in the top 100 at any rate and dd is Lucy.

Lj8893 · 02/08/2015 09:26

It's my name. I sometimes feel it's pretty boring but then it's not as dull as some other names, and very unusual names can get annoying too I suppose.

I think it is fairly underused, I only know 1 other Lucy.

CointreauVersial · 02/08/2015 13:50

DD2 has a friend called Lucine (sorry, can't do acute accents, but pronounced Loo-sin-ay).

Quite pretty, and unusual, and can be shortened to Lucy if you feel like it.

HelenaJustina · 02/08/2015 13:53

I like it, not a single Lucy at preschool or school that I know off, definitely underused round here for an ending in 'e' sound name.

PickledLilly · 02/08/2015 13:58

My DD is Lucy, I love it obviously but my mother is frequently sniffy about it and says it's a dogs name Hmm

EatMyFoodFeelMyFork · 03/08/2015 17:13

My sister is Lucy and loves her name. No one really shortens it although close friends have been known to call her Lucy lu.
Another family member (only 4) has been named Lucy and she gets called Lula which is cute but doesn't have to stick when she's older.

ExitPursuedByABear · 03/08/2015 17:16

I'm sure I read somewhere that it is the luckiest name.

Go for it.

Jemimapuddleduk · 03/08/2015 17:18

It's lovely and I haven't come across any little Lucys. I think I marginalky prefer the spelling Lucie.
If you are worried about it not being unusual enough how about Lucia or Lucinda?

TheoriginalLEM · 03/08/2015 17:20

i love it too, well i would wouldn't i :) My Lucy is named after Lucy Pevensie and she aint dull!

I do know an awful lot of dogs called Lucy though Hmm

RubyRedfortSecretAgent · 03/08/2015 17:25

Very pretty.

reuset · 03/08/2015 17:31
