Brother for Edison

We have Ds, Edison who get called Ned a lot of the time. Currently pg and struggling for boy names! Think we're sorted for girls!

Ideally want something that can have a nickname so they have options. I like Rafferty but DH keeps going back and forth on it. He likes Abe which is OK but not sure what the long version would be, Abraham seems a bit much and I'm not religious but even I think Abel is a bit cruel to give to a younger brother (shame because I quite like it!)

Hit me...

Not sure about Rex or Magnus but like the others. Unfortunately friends have just had a Barnaby!

Abram instead of Abraham?

surname-y names seem to fit here - Fletcher, Cooper, Archer, or Asher ( i love this one) but not sure if there are naturally evolving nicknames (except Ash for Asher)

RedToothBrush · 29/07/2015 20:12

Lincoln
Newton

Edison gorgeous name. And I dont usually get surnamey names. Love Ned as nn as well.
I think you need another surnamey name to match
Cooper
Fletcher
Franklin
Preston.
Although oscar Would go very nicely

Years ago, we had a neighbour with the grand old name of Skeffington, known as Skeff. I rather like it.

WombOfOnesOwn · 29/07/2015 21:01

Tesla.

Just don't be surprised when they fight all the time.

RedToothBrush · 29/07/2015 21:24

Franklin was the other one I was trying to think of!!

Would both be 'traditional' names with a fresh modern twist, with a little history to inspire thrown in.

Not too out there, but just different enough.

DogWalker75 · 29/07/2015 21:27

Isaac?

Namechangefornamechoice · 29/07/2015 21:28

Skeffington! Dare I?! And womb Grin

Agree, surnamey type names would work, DH currently all over Gulliver which I'm really warming to as well. Like that we'd have a science type name and a literary one though not essential! Also like Asher but DH has a cousin called Ash which might rule it out.

Or we could just have a girl!

Science names:

Watt. Joules. Faraday. Kelvin. Grin

Sophronia · 29/07/2015 23:56

I know a Gulliver who goes by Gully Grin

PumpingRSI · 30/07/2015 07:33

How about Grayson or perhaps Bramwell for the more traditional but still in keeping?

CityDweller · 30/07/2015 17:51

Dashiell? (Dash for short). We know a little boy with this name and he's awesome
