DD due in a few weeks and really struggling to find a name! Looking for something old, not common and not weird! Does such a name exist?!

My son has a name from the chronicles of narnia, a horse and his boy book and my daughter has an old English name that has been used more in the US in recent years.

Psst - this thread is a little old. If you’re looking for old-fashioned baby names, these ones are due a comeback. MNHQ

I've gone for mid to late middle ages used names for most of my suggestions Grin

Cecily is super trendy where I live and on the rise.

reuset · 28/07/2015 00:58

Though I've altered a spelling or so to my own preference Grin

I have an Abigail, I think that name sounds like your criteria but I'm biased in loving it Wink

I also liked Ada, Iris, Anne and Hannah.

Old-fashioned is quite a broad spectrum, so you've loads of choice! I've gone for a mix of Early 20th C, Victoriana and Middle Ages...

Thanks for all the suggestions, some that I like but nothing that I love!

ancientbuchanon Aravis would be very apt ;) but my husband is not to be convinced. The daughter of the star in DT didn't have a name in the books, they gave her one in the film though.
