I like Talia (prefer Thalia) and Gaia.

Lynelle - Horrid, sounds made up. How about Lynette or Linnet?
Melina - I know a lovely Melina. She's from Cyprus. Quite like it.
Talia - OK, a bit meh.
Jocelyn - absolutely lovely, very classy.
Ranny -NO, just no. Why? This is not a name.
Gaia - Quite like but a bit hippy.

Gaia! I taught a Gaia (Italian family) lovely girl, really liked her name, slightly unusual but not crazy, seemed a nice name to grow up with, works well for child or adult.

Jocelyn is gorgeous.

BadHenry · 17/07/2015 07:39

Talia/Thalia, Jocelyn or Gaia

MissWimpyDimple · 17/07/2015 08:00

Aren't they all names from Barbie movies?! Serious question!

Jocelyn is nice, the others are not.

TobleroneBoo · 17/07/2015 08:01

Talia as Talia not Tarlia, but prepare them for a lifetime of " no Talia not Tarlia, yes it's T-A..... " etc

These are family names. My auntie is called Ranny thats where it came from. OK Jocelyn it might be. That's my Nan's name.

Is your aunt Ranny's name short for something? Or does she have Ranny on her birth cert? Just curious, I haven't heard it before.

I remember Joss from the Trebizon books. She was ace. Clever, sporty, independent but down to earth. I always had a soft spot for the name on this basis.

GirlsonFilm · 17/07/2015 09:13

Not Melina....to close to melena (black poo)

Jocelyn would get my vote

AnonymousBird · 17/07/2015 09:17

Jocelyn definitely. It's timeless and not trying too hard. Thalia not bad, but a bit princessy.
