Do you just know if the name is right regardless of appearance?

Anyone else think they have the names picked but worried if baby has unexpected hair colour or appearance that it won't suit and you will be back to square one?! Does the name just work if you have your heart set on it?

We had a shortlist for DD's name before she was born - a firm favourite plus two backups. Luckily she looked like our favourite name, we knew immediately when we saw her that it was her name.

When DS was born, again, we had a shortlist. Not one of them suited him. We ended up going back through all of the rejected names and he ended up with the male version of one of DDs shortlist. Lucky she didn't look the female version really, although it is odd because they're like twins born 5 years apart Grin

We didn't know gender with number 1. Only had a boys name though (just the one) and that was his name. No debate or hesitation.

We knew number 2 was a girl and had a name picked from about 30w. Again baby had that name from second she appeared and there was absolutely no doubt.

SIL took a week to name both her girls as she wasn't sure if name/s they liked suited baby/s... she ended up given her dd1 the name they liked best throughout pregnancy but with dd2 gave her a name they'd not even considered when pregnant.
