For dc3!

Have a feeling it'll be a boy!

Brother is Reuben.

It's not that popular, number 189 in ons statistics with 295 babies called arlo.

Bollocksinabowl · 26/06/2015 14:03

Sounds like an over-the-counter treatment for thrush

reuset · 26/06/2015 14:07

It's destined for huge popularity. Look at the chart here and the sharp rise, year on year, a typical journey of one of the trendy names.

Its 2015.The stats are for 2013. Whilst it doesn't appear that popular yet, I'll be amazed if its not top 100 in the 2014 stats that are due out in about 6 weeks and isn't one of the highest climbers for the year. It really does seem to be everywhere

reuset · 26/06/2015 16:35

Yep, stats only up to 2013 as 2014 due out soon. I'll eat my hat (I've promised that before on here and not had to Grin) if it hasn't risen significantly still.

Andy Carroll the footballer n his TOWIE partner have just named their baby this. I like the name but feel it will now become massively popular.

FringedLampshade · 26/06/2015 16:41

There are a lot of under one Arlos around here. I was at an under-attended local baby/toddler group yesterday, and of the eight children present, two were called Arlo, both under six months.

I think it is likely to be hugely, briefly popular.

HuftysTrain · 26/06/2015 17:58

Oh no! It's had the the footballer/Towie wag kiss of death. Cringe.

FraggleHair · 26/06/2015 17:59

Footballer and Towie is a double body blow.

Baguettes · 27/06/2015 10:01

I was considering Arlo until the footballer / towie nightmare occurred. Absolute no-no now.

It was our front runner for DC2 for the past 6 years and we may well have gone for it when DC2 was born last Sunday , if it wasn't for being warned off big time back in January on here ! People were saying that it was almost as popular as David in some parts of London ! .... And like MishMooshandMogwai we have an Orla which would have been a bit like being given two vowels and two consonants to play with Wink . That said I still adore it and think that , for me, along with Reuben- very few boys names are as lovely .
If you love it go for it- but be prepared for it to be increasing in popularity .
