A sister for Meredith

I currently have a daughter called Meredith and I need a name for her sister, due in October.
We're a bit stuck

I like Tove but am worried that people might pronounce it wrong. We both like bonnie but I don't know if it's too twee?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Grin

Ohhhh I think I know you! Bus buddies ???? I love Meredith (and the nn you use for her if you are who I think you are!). How about something similar with a longer name and also a nn, might be easier to find a compromise you can agree on then?

Imogen is lovely and could have good shortenings. Heather rather sweet too

Sorry that face did t work xxx Grin

throwingpebbles · 24/06/2015 20:34

If you like bonnie, how about Constance with Connie as the nick name ?

regularbutpanickingabit · 24/06/2015 20:40

What about Juliet?
Otherwise
Rebecca
Zoe
Zillah
Rachel
Sally

Meredith is actually a man's name. It's the Anglicization of the Welsh name Maredudd, and the second element -udd means 'lord'.

One of Owain Glyndwr's sons was called Maredudd, as was the great-grandfather of Henry VII.

Rhiannon
Bethan
Bronwen

Quasilulu · 26/06/2015 03:10

My first thought was Abigail

McDreamyMcNastyMcHottie · 26/06/2015 03:36

Lexie or Margaret.

Grey's anatomy fan here!

meggy22 · 26/06/2015 13:46

I love Meredith, but we had a boy. I like Heather, Mabel (a bit too similar to Meredith though), violet and Harriet.

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/06/2015 13:49

mcDreamy I just came to say it had to be lexie Grin

or Christina.

love meredith. and lexie goes well. Just saying

Popped in to say Imogen and see I've been beaten to it.

...but not with Quinoa unless Meredith's middle name is Semolina or Bulgar: it's just odd.

artyone · 04/07/2015 20:36

Haha thanks all. Lots to think about. Think i've gone off Bonnie now as I feel I need something a bit stronger.
It's far more difficult this time round.

throwingpebbles very likely bus buddies 'wave'! I've lost track of who is who now though.

PattyPenguin I know the origins of the name Meredith. I named my daughter Meredith after researching the name and am happy with my choice. I'm looking for something with a similar feel.

So far from the suggestions here I like
Imogen
Heather
Harriet

I can't use Amanda with Meredith, after the Italian/american murder and trial. I can't use Constance as I have a close association with that name, so it reminds me a lot of someone.

I think it's probably hard because you picked such a gorgeous name the first time Smile

I really like all three of the ones you've listed.

throwingpebbles · 04/07/2015 20:45
