Final girls shortlist: please rank and comment

There are our final six girls names.
I would welcome any feedback. Middle name unimportant to me as nobody ever knows your mn so I will decide that later.

Matilda (nn Tilda)
Elizabeth (nn Eliza or Beth)
Isabella
Olivia (nn Oli or Liv)
Nina
Rose

Nina- love it
Matilda- bit popular for me but still really like it as a name
Elizabeth- classic with lots of nickname potential (I hate Eliza with a passion though, I think Id rather go for Libby or Betty- ive heard Effie as a nn for Elizabeth too which I love but others will say it's not)

Isabella and Olivia are nice but way too popular for me to use

Rose is horrible, sorry, ive never liked it

I'd say 1. Matilda 2. Elizabeth 3. Isabella

Elizabeth - my favourite ever name. I would use it in a heartbeat for a DD. Great nickname potential- Libby, Lizzy, Eliza, Beth, Betsy, Liz.

Isabella - I really like this name, but it is very popular so that might turn you off it.

Matilda - Again it's very popular but I like it.

Rose - I quite like this name but I know other people have very strong opinions over it.

Nina - it's okay. I don't really like or dislike it, I'm quite indifferent to it.

I won't rank or comment on Olivia, as I'm very biased towards it!

I did know one girl called Rosanina which it a combination of two names you like. I don't know how I feel about that name though.

In order:
Nina - lovely; simple, elegant and underused
Elizabeth - classic and very versatile. Will never date.
Rose - not a particular favourite of mine but I like its simplicity.

Olivia/Isabella/Matilda - all nice enough, but too popular for me. If I had to pick one I'd go for Matilda because of its strong sound - the others are a bit girly.

If it helps to know sibling names they are Arthur and William.

In order:
Elizabeth (nn Eliza or Beth)- my first choice for a DD- classic
Olivia (nn Oli or Liv)- Beautiful but quite popular
Isabella- Pretty but also popular.
Rose- Simple and pretty.
Matilda (nn Tilda)- Dislike
Nina- Dislike

Olivia is lovely but very very popular, as is Isabella.
Elizabeth would be last, I hate it. (It's my name..) too long in full and the ubiquitous and inevitable liz is an awful harsh sounding nn.

I like all these, except Nina. And Isabella is very popular around here.

My favourite is Elizabeth (for all the reasons given above), followed by Rose.

Not a lot of consensus so far!

I think Olivia probably is too popular around here and once you combine the various spellings of Isabella with the Isobel's then there are quite a few of them too. For those reasons I think I'm leaning towards:

Elizabeth - but only if I can avoid Liz/Lizzy! I quite like Lilibet but it's a bit poncy isn't it?
Nina - I love this as it works in nearly every culture and is really underused in the UK. But does it fit with Arthur and William
Matilda - I love this and it doesn't seen so popular around here. I hate Milly and Tilly though so it would need to be Tilda or Matty as a nn. I think this goes best with the boys.

Rose - I love this as long as she doesn't become Rosie. Trouble is ds1 can't say R very well.

Isabella is perfectly OK but just very popular at the mo. Olivia is maybe a little dull.

Trust me, as an adult Elizabeth, you can't avoid Liz/Lizzy! I've never called myself liz, yet it's what everyone calls me.

Matilda - I loved this name years ago when it was obscure. Too popular now, and I dislike Tilda and loathe Tilly as nns.

Isabella - I prefer the less frilly Isobel, but again it's too popular in all its variations atm.

Olivia - another name that's currently ubiquitous, and I don't much like it anyway.

Rose - boring. I prefer Rosa and Rosanna.

Elizabeth - you can't really go wrong with Elizabeth, but it's never been a favourite of mine. Lots of nns, but I don't really like any of them.

Nina - a clear winner for me. Simple and easy to spell, elegant, travls well and suits all ages. And not too popular.

Whatever nickname you decide on will be changed by your children's friends. If anyone had ever told me my ds would be known outside the house as Eddy I'd have rolled my eyes!

In order I like:

Nina
Isabella
Elizabeth (nn Eliza or Beth) - agree with others Elizabeth tends to get nn as Liz etc. I do like Beth, have you considered Bethany?
Rose - old fashioned but pretty.
Matilda (nn Tilda) - Tilda makes me think of rice I'm afraid!
Olivia (nn Oli or Liv) - reminds me of oil. Don't like it.

I've just seen your concern about the name "going with" her brothers' names. I don't think any of the names would look incongruous, but it really doesn't matter a jot.

Your children are individuals, and when they grow up they will move in circles where most people won't even know if they have siblings , let alone what their names are.

Elizabeth is a great name. It's my DD middle name - but we often use both her names together and with variants on Elizabeth. My favourite shortening is Lizzie but she does also get called Lillibet.

Love Elizabeth biased and Nina. Olivia is also pretty. Rose and Matilda are nice, but if there are nns you want to avoid it might not be the best idea.

(Oh, and our Elizabeth has never ever been referred to as Liz. That seems quite an old fashioned nn to me, so perhaps adult Elizabeths get this problem but it hasn't been an issue with ours - she's Elizabeth or Libby...)

I only like Rose, although Elizabeth is OK if you used one of the nicer nicknames from it for everyday.

Not keen on Nina, hate Matilda, and there are Olivias and Isabellas everywhere.

Isabella and variants are just so so popular. Likewise Olivia. Matilda is quite popular too, and probably on the up.

Elizabeth is nice, my favourite nn is Beth. I don't think Liz is inevitable for the new generation.

Rose also nice, but much prefer Rosanna.

Nina is lovely and was on my long list, however DS (2yo) is obsessed with fire engines, which he refers to as 'nee-nahs' so it just wouldn't have worked for us (although DS would have loved it!)

I agree that it doesn't matter at all if sibling names 'go together' or not.

1. Isabella. I think it's absolutely beautiful, but the only problem is it's super-popularity. If that doesn't bother you, then go for it.
2. Olivia. Also lovely, but ditto with the popularity.
3. Nina. Simple, elegant and also more unusual. So if you were bothered by the popularity of Olivia and Isabella I'd probably go for that.
4. Elizabeth. Classic and classy. Lots of variety of nicknames you could use.
5. Rose. Nice but overpopular. Every other little girl has this as a middle name. Could you use something similar, like Rosa, Rosalie, Rosalind? Because that would push it right up the list!
6. Matilda. It's fine, but I'm not really that keen. Verging on middle class pretentious, and getting more and more popular.

1. Rose. My favourite girls name and one I would have used if I had a daughter.
2. Nina. Very pretty
3. Elizabeth. Classic and lots of lovely nicknames
4. Isabella. I love the name, it would have been second, except there are so many of them
5. Olivia. Pretty and popular
6. Matilda. Not keen for some reason, but I do like Tilly.
