Which do you prefer as a sister for Edmund, and why? Need help deciding.
Middle name suggestions very welcome too.

Thank you!

I like Rosalie better, I think the "ee" should gives a more definite end to the name, but that's just my opinion.

They're both nice names.

IsItStupid · 22/06/2015 10:10

Sound not should!

petitdonkey · 22/06/2015 10:12

Rosalie - she can still be Rosa for short, I like a 'Sunday name'! Both lovely choices though.

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 22/06/2015 10:21

We have a Rosa Alice, and I love the simplicity of Rosa, but they are both lovely names. I also think Rosa is strong enough for a "Sunday" name, but then I would! :)

mellowfartfulness · 22/06/2015 10:27

They're both nice but I think Rosalie is especially lovely - and can still be shortened to Rosa if she wants.

Sophronia · 22/06/2015 10:35

Definitely Rosa. I don't like Rosalie at all, it's a bit dowdy imo. Rosa is beautiful.

TempsPerdu · 22/06/2015 11:20

Both nice but prefer Rosa - seems stronger without the 'lie' ending, which somehow diminishes it for me. Rosa is just beautiful - simple, elegant and feminine without being girly.

bluewisteria · 22/06/2015 11:29

I prefer Rosa. We have a Rosetta to gives lots of nn options. I think I prefer Rosa because I get a little caught up with all the 'e' sounds next to each other saying Rosalie and Edmund.

Zakken · 22/06/2015 11:32

Rosa.

I don't dislike Rosalie. It depends on the surname somewhat, but using Edmund as a guide, I favour Rosa.

CPtart · 22/06/2015 11:42

Prefer Rosa, I know one aged 2. Roseanne is even nicer IMO.
Too many ie ending names about, would avoid Rosalie.

Usernamer · 22/06/2015 13:58

I prefer Rosalie...not that it is one of your options but Rosamund is probably my favourite...

fellowship33 · 22/06/2015 13:59

Prefer the elegance of Rosa.

TagineKaput · 22/06/2015 14:28

Both lovely names, but I prefer Rosalie, especially as this gives you the option to shorten it to Rosa.

susurration · 22/06/2015 19:05

Rosalie sounds more finished off. Rose or Rosa can be for shortening.

Donthate · 22/06/2015 19:12

Rosa. Rosalie sounds clunky to me.

EmmaWoodlouse · 22/06/2015 20:59

I've always really liked Rosalie, and as others have said upthread, you could always shorten it to Rosa. So I vote for Rosalie.

EmmaWoodlouse · 22/06/2015 21:01

Oh, and as for middle names... Rosalie Grace was my first thought, or how about Rosalie Fleur, Rosalie Claire, Rosalie June, Rosalie Eve? I think it goes well with a shorter middle name.

2boys2girls · 22/06/2015 21:09

Love both and Rosalind,Rosanna, Rosanne love all rose names
Rosa/lie Sophia
Rosa Vivienne

ashesandfire · 22/06/2015 21:57

I prefer Rosa to Rosalie. even better I love Rosalind or Rosanna nn Rosa.
I'm never sure how to pn Rosalie- have you considered that? Is it Rose-a-lee or Roz-a-lee? Or a -lie not -lee ending? Might cause confusion

timelyreminder · 22/06/2015 22:22

The ones I've met have all been Roz-a-lee.

Sophronia · 22/06/2015 22:25

The one I know is Rose-a-LEE, emphasis on the last syllable.

Marcipex · 23/06/2015 00:07

blue wisteria, Rosetta is lovely.

I prefer Rosa to Rosalie, it's so classic and pretty. Both are nice though.

Allalonenow · 23/06/2015 00:19

I like Rosalie best, it seems a more "grown up" name with a bit of sparkle and shine to it.
I also like Rosalind very much.

MamaMotherMummy · 23/06/2015 00:30

Rosa
