Three syllable girls names

Pumble · 16/06/2015 21:48

Expecting dc3 and currently have two DDs. We are all sorted if it's a boy but struggling a bit for girls' names. To fit with our DDs we want a three syllable name ending in 'a' and we just can't find one. There must be some that we aren't thinking of! Any ideas welcome Smile

My daughter had a Genava in her class this past year. Same emphasis on the syllables as Genevieve, but a 'vuh' sound instead of the 'veeve' sound at the end. I hadn't heard it before, but it really grew on me. Loads of good suggestions in previous posts. :)

Oh yes, sorry Blush

In my sleep deprived state I didn't read the op properly.

Was amazed at how many names ended in an 'a'!

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 17/06/2015 07:41

Sophia. Lydia.

Szeli · 17/06/2015 07:50

Haha cliff I thought you were just amazed most people had read the op properly Grin

IsItStupid · 17/06/2015 08:01

Are you open to four syllable names? You said you like "Olivia" which I would count as four syllables.

Anyway, three syllables:

Sophia
Louisa
Eleanor (pronounced with an "ah" sound)
Maria
Helena
Diana (is that a no-go in the Uk? I live overseas.)
Luella
Georgina

Three-ish or four syllabus:

Catalina
Georgiana
Amelia
Henrietta
Gabriella
Valeria
Esmeralda
Victoria

haleandhearty · 17/06/2015 11:31

I love Fenella - such a gorgeous name with good nickname possibilities:Nella, Nell... not at all old-fashioned.

Do try and persuade your husband!
