Not sure if we're having boy or girl yet but we're sorted for boys names. This will be dc3 and have two boys with traditional names, one being George.
I love ramona, dh hates it. (I love it from the books I read as a child)
I like Harriet, dh not so sure. And I worry it sounds a bit posh.
We both like robin. It'll be a December baby too. But I'm not sure if it's actually a name I'll like in reality - if that makes sense?!
We both loved summer for last baby - who was summer born but a boy! Can't use it as its daft with it being a winter baby.
Any ideas on similar names?!

Hannah?
I like Robyn
Howw about Ivy ?

Chickenandpenguin · 14/06/2015 21:29

Ivy had flashed through my mind but it's too old lady for my liking.
I quite like Hannah but it's a no from DH. He knows a very tedious one...

Ivy is very popular now, less 'old lady' nowadays. I think it was one of the highest risers in the top 100 last year, but I'm too lazy to check.

Harriet sounds fine to me, not posh, as it quite mainstream. Ramona also good (but no good if dh dislikes). Robin, as a first name I don't like for a Christmas baby but Harriet Robin would be very quaint. Winter comes up now and again as a first name, though it might not be to taste.

Also
Estella (star)
Gabriella
Angelica

bit themed, but...

Ooh now harriet robin together sounds cute. Quaint yes. Hmm. I quite like the idea of a name linked to its month/time of year. But then also recognise I'm hormonal and daft and have had bad ideas for names in head the last 2 times. Luckily we didn't use them...

Chickenandpenguin · 14/06/2015 21:50

I like Gabriella too. Not so keen on bryony- it's always sounded like you wanted a boy and tagged a y on to me. Thanks tho

Tif chicken, no one wants to call their baby boy Brian.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 14/06/2015 21:55

Noelle maybe for December baby?Harriet is lovely though

Chickenandpenguin · 14/06/2015 21:57

Hahaha through, too true. Noelle just reminds me of Noel Edmunds. I'm very hard to please, sorry!

I like Harriet - I don't think of if as being particularly posh.

How about Cecelia, Helena, Jane, Laura, Madeleine, Ruth or Sadie?

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 14/06/2015 22:06

Isadore is unusual, and I think means gift (December-Christmas-gifts) but then Dora means gift so any name with that in takes on that meaning I suppose.

SayExcuseMe · 14/06/2015 22:10

Going on the December theme:
Winter
Holly
Ivy
Mary
Star
Gabriella
Angel

Also:
Amber
Ella
Maya
Phoebe
Amy
Lia
Jody
Freya
Olivia
Jasmine
Rowan
Pippa
Bridget
Anna
Cleo
Rebecca
Kayleigh
Frances
Imogen

Ah, Harriet Robin is lovely.

serin · 14/06/2015 22:12

Harriet Robyn is gorgeous.

I thought "Robin" is the boys spelling? but I might be wrong.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 14/06/2015 22:15

Seren (star), Don't know how common it is out side Wales though

mrspink27 · 14/06/2015 22:16

Edith? Peggy?

Zakken · 15/06/2015 01:52

Holly, ivy and robins are with us all the year round, so I don't think of them as wintry or Christmassy. For Christmastime there is

Natalie, Natalia, Natasha
Christabel, Christina
Carol, Carola, Carolina
Nicola

You could also look at saints' days in December - might be something there to inspire you.

Harriet is a nice name, don't see it as posh and it is nice with George.
