Anastasia, nickname Stacey

It seems from the archive that everyone hates the name Stacey/thinks it's dated/chavvy.

It's a serious contender if we have a girl and I'm not convinced it is chavvy, though perhaps dated.

We have a "St..." surname and quite like the alliteration.

We would not use Stacey on it's own, and with Anastasia there would be the possibility of other nicknames too... Ana/Anya etc.

Anyone got strong opinions either way?

I think we did Smile. As far as I can see it was also popular in the SE, at least in my family.

I thought of it as a Munster thing, but maybe it's a southern thing - I guess there were a lot of marriages across county lines in that area (south tip/north cork/waterford)

Isn't anastasia an ugly sister in Cinderella? It is in the media again due to film release, I would avoid tbh

I know of 2 Anastasias, one is nick named Tasie, and the other Zizi, so there are plenty of options
