I've just come across this name and think that it is really pretty, providing that it is pronounced as Tabitha with an L.

Does anyone know?

Yes, it is pronounced as Tabitha with an L. Great name.

I have a friend called Talitha who uses nn Tally, which is also nice. I have only ever come across one other Talitha, who is a 4 year old.

mappemonde · 24/05/2015 22:26

There was a girl at school called this pronounced tah-lee-thah

Pikkewyn · 24/05/2015 22:26

I know one - her name is like Tabitha with an l but our american colleagues call her ta-lee-tha which causes her left eye to twitch :)

Marcipex · 24/05/2015 22:58

I wouldn't know which syllable to stress. It's a nice Biblical name though.

DampAndRotten · 24/05/2015 23:11

I would say Ta-lee-tha but I could well be wrong.

Indomitable · 24/05/2015 23:16

I knew one pronounced Ta-lee-tha.

Allthatnonsense · 24/05/2015 23:33

Yes, was afraid of Ta - Lee - Tha pronunciation.

Oh well, back to the drawing board!

I thought Ta-Lee-Tha too. But I kind of like that pronunciation more than Talitha to rhyme with Tabitha.

littleostrich · 25/05/2015 13:28

There was a Talitha on Ex on the Beach (probably shouldn't admit that I watch such awful television) and hers was pronounced Tah-lee-tha.

Psippsina · 25/05/2015 13:31

I know one! It's TAL -itha, just like Tabitha. Smile

BackforGood · 25/05/2015 13:34

Whichever is the "correct" pronunciation, I think you would get a lot of people, like me, who would see it written down and think it said "Tal-Lee-tha", and if that would annoy you, then probably not the name to pick.

PaperdollCartoon · 25/05/2015 18:41

I've not seen it before but read it straight away like Tabitha but with an L, sounds lovely you can definitely use it that way. Lots of names can be mispronounced, not a reason not to use them

reuset · 26/05/2015 14:37

Aramaic is not my strong point, but I'd guess it was Ta-lee-tha. You could use either pronunciation just as easily

emmalineavocado · 26/05/2015 17:17

I know one too!

Pronounced TA-LEE-TA
Nn Tally.

Very pretty and unusual.

LeoandBoosmum · 26/05/2015 18:10

Tah-Lee-Tha
