this has to have an award for the Most Middle Class Thread ever on Mumsnet Grin

YeOldeTrout · 26/07/2015 10:51

Jayden. Can't think of any others under 5!

MamaLazarou · 26/07/2015 11:10

Why's that, 0010001? None of the children I mentioned are middle class.

Err because if names like Jonty, Lucas, Oscar, Arlo, Barclay, Jasper, Atticus, Corbin, Reuben,Theo, Milo, Quin, Cosmo, Jaxxon, Bruno etc etc etc

MamaLazarou · 26/07/2015 13:03

I don't think those are all 'middle class' names at all. Jonty and Cosmo definitely are, but the rest are pretty ordinary. There are plenty of working-class Jaxons and Oscars and Atticus seems to be the latest 'want something original but can't think of anything' fad name.

00100001 · 26/07/2015 13:31

Well, where i live you won't find any of those names around! :)

MamaLazarou · 26/07/2015 13:59

Are you a flat-cap-wearing whippet who lives down a coal mine? Grin

BikeRunSki · 26/07/2015 14:17

I live in a Yorkshire pit village that had a working pit until about 3 years ago. DS's class has an Oscar, Ruben, Lucas and Theo. My neighbours have a 10 year old Malachi and I know a 4 year old one just down the road, who'll be starting at DS's school in a few weeks. Also one or more Oscar, Lucas, Ruben, Theo and Jasper at nursery, swimming lessons and Beavers. None of the families in question are particularly middle class.

ha ha no not a whippet! Grin

Just where I live (slightly poorer end of town) there's Tyrone, CeeJay, Reece, Callum, Bobby-Joel and a Stryker (yes with a Y, it's on his football shirt!)

However the somewhat posh school I work at is full of Theo's, Oscars, Lucas and Milos

That was my 'evidence' for this being a thread full of middle-class names :P :)

00100001 · 27/07/2015 07:09

and P.S no way is Arlo a 'pretty ordinary' name Grin MN is the only place I've ever heard that name :) ;)

MamaLazarou · 27/07/2015 08:43

There's an Arlo on our estate! Council, that is, not country.

00100001 · 27/07/2015 16:06

How many other Arlo's do you know? :)
