Sister to go with Tabitha

Hi All
Due this week!

I have boys names sorted. I have a DD called Tabitha but rarely gets called Tabitha- usually Tatty!

Please help. We are going round in circles. We are definitely fans of fuller birth certificate name with funky, more unusual nicknames.

Indigo nn Indie - Love Indie with Tatty. This is our fav but not so sure of Indigo as Tabitha's sister. Too different name camps right? Will she wish she had a more traditional fn? Dislike Indira, Indiana & India. Also, how many Indie's do you know?

Hermione nn Mimi or Minnie - HP Gah!!!

Saskia nn Sassy or Kiki - I love both. DH not so much.

Bonnie - does it need a full name? My name OCD says it does.

Lilia - too many Lilys about, right! Think this might be a mn option as it's after a family member.

They are the front runners.
Other options have been...
Jemima, Xanthe, Willow, Clementine, Camilla, Cressida, Cordelia, Constance...

Grateful for help, opinions, thoughts!

Thanks

I do understand the offence over flippant use of OCD, and yes, thread title is unfortunate, and clearly distressing to sufferers, their allies, and others too. But I doubt Thames meant to be offensive. Perhaps should be reported if offensive, rather than insulting the OP.
Re. the names, I would just think carefully about the nicknames thing. I know a Cordelia who is "Co" (pronounced "Coe") and a number of Camillas who are"Miller". While all great, and they really suit the people concerned, they may not be the nicknames you're imagining for your child - I think these things just evolve over time, and can't be easily controlled.

parsnipbob · 11/05/2015 22:54

Lovely so the OP can offend and it's excusable but no one else can say anything?

BikeRunSki · 11/05/2015 22:58

Lucinda / Lulu - seems to work along the same lines as Tabitha/Tatty.

Jenni2legs · 11/05/2015 22:59

Ursula?

SurlyCue · 11/05/2015 23:07

Yeah cis you know me inside out New. Your name suits you.

Sorry, can you clarify what you mean by this comment? It sounds like you are implying something derogatory about news mental health.

DawnMumsnet · 11/05/2015 23:29

Evening all,

Thanks for your reports about this thread - we've edited the title now so it doesn't offend anyone else. We're sure the OP didn't mean to offend, but we agree the casual use of this term is inappropriate when it can be such a debilitating condition.

We haven't removed the term from the opening post because it's been referenced in so many subsequent posts that the rest of the thread wouldn't make sense.

Farageisback · 12/05/2015 08:06

Jessip So after Newtomentalhealth stated that her DD suffered from OCD, you told her her username suits her? You're a fucking moron!

addstudentdinners2 · 12/05/2015 08:39

Ok, first things first, hate Indigo. Agree that it's poncey. Ditto Sassy and Saskia. Sassy sounds like a prostitute's name. I like Minnie but not Hermione. Bonnie is ok.

Secondly, your post is highly insulting to OCD sufferers and I find the fact you haven't admitted it or apologised even worse.

thamesk8 · 13/05/2015 22:16

I think it's very clear that I didn't mean to upset anyone.
Parsnipbob seems to want to keep the whole thing going and spark some sort of argument... I do not.
I just came for some opinions on these names.
Thanks to those who are doing that! Really grateful for suggestions.
Thanks to Mumsnet for seeing it as they have. Apologies to those whose cages have been rattled by my mistake.

I did not want to spark a argument, I wasn't even the first poster who pointed it out Hmm.

I was angry given some of the ignorant and dismissive attitudes displayed here. That is all.

FatWalda · 14/05/2015 13:19

Katharine nn Kitty

verelab · 14/05/2015 13:47

I like India (not Indigo tho' I'm afraid) and Bonnie of your list

I have known Tabithas with sisters:

Poppy
Merryn (love this!)

What about Katherine? Rosanna?

reuset · 14/05/2015 18:46

Thanks to Mumsnet for seeing it as they have. Apologies to those whose cages have been rattled by my mistake.

Don't single people out, OP. Many of us 'had our cages rattled' and spoke out.

Most irritating for me too was your dismissive attitude after it had been pointed out. I'm still not sure you quite get it, but hopefully you'll think twice before using the term in similar context again.

PurpleDaisies · 14/05/2015 18:51

I had my cage rattled...have a friend whose life is totally ruled (ruined at the moment) by ocd so not a fan of flippant use. Apology accepted and wishing you all the best for your impending new arrival!

Hulababy · 14/05/2015 18:54

We know twin teenage girls called Tabitha and Felicity.

heylilbunny · 15/05/2015 10:09

I haven't read the whole thread but I think Nancy or Naomi go very well with Tabitha.
