On here again.... I know Hmm. We really do have our final two now. DH still being quite lovely about it all and just telling me to choose. I thought me having the final decision would make it easy but no. So I really would value your opinions again please.

Rosalie Iris Mary
Grace Phyllis Rose

Thanks again Flowers

I'd like Grace Iris Mary or Grace Mary Iris

Guin1 · 07/05/2015 16:33

Rosalie Iris Mary is beautiful.

CPtart · 07/05/2015 16:42

Rosalie is my preference over Grace, although Roseanne is much nicer. There are far far too many IE ending names of both genders out there are the moment, and it makes it sound like an abbreviation.

Walkingonsunshine00 · 07/05/2015 16:42

Grace for me too

myneighbourtotoro2 · 07/05/2015 17:06

Love Rosalie . Not keen on Grace really

Allalonenow · 07/05/2015 17:16

Rosalie is lovely, and works better than Grace with a short surname, but I'm not keen on the two flower names used together.
Rosalie Mary Grace perhaps?

Not keen on Phyllis.

Sootgremlin · 07/05/2015 17:31

Rosalie Iris and Mary are the best three names. I might switch the last two to avoid RIM, but Mary Iris runs on in an awkward way.

Rosalie Mary Grace if you like it enough to have considered it for a first name?

Rosalie is very nice for a first name, unusual but not out there. I don't see it being shortened to 'Ros' more likely 'Rose' as that is how it is pronounced, right?

Grace Phyllis Rose reads like a second choice ifyswim.

Sootgremlin · 07/05/2015 17:32

Ha - great minds allalonenow, didn't see your suggestion when I posted Smile

Allalonenow · 07/05/2015 17:35
Smile
SoupDragon · 07/05/2015 17:35

I wouldn't switch Iris and Mary as it sounds like you've done something "unique" with Rosemary

Sootgremlin · 07/05/2015 17:48

Actually the RIM thing doesn't matter if you've a surname after it as well, so stick with Rosalie Iris Mary, soupdragon is right about. Rosalie and Mary not sitting right.

As you were Grin

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 07/05/2015 17:53

Rosalie is lovely. I love Grace too but Rosalie is uncommon and unusual without being dated/twee or downright weird.

She might use her second name occasionally but no-one ever gives out all three names so RIM Jones is far more likely to be R.I Jones if it ever came up.

Unless your surname is Smith. RIM Smith would be a little unfortunate Grin

IvoryMadonna · 07/05/2015 20:06

What's "unfortunate" about RIM Smith?

Lucaslovesfelicity · 08/05/2015 15:50

Thanks everyone. DH has decided to finally make a contribution and says he thinks he prefers Rosalie Iris Mary SURNAME, so think we have finally come to some sort of a decision. Obviously will wait until we meet her but thanks again everyone for all your helpFlowers

Sorry, just curious....

How come you have two completely different names? Usually people have a definite first or middle name, just wondered what the back story is? I'm nosey!

Lucaslovesfelicity · 08/05/2015 21:19

Allthatnonsense

Phyllis Mary was my grandmothers name, so definitely wanted to use one of those as a middle name. My DD has two middle names and one of those is a flower name, so that is where Rose and Iris come from. First names are names I just like Smile

Personally I wouldn't go with RIM even followed by a surname, but you seem happy with it and they're lovely names.

Lucaslovesfelicity · 08/05/2015 21:35

Thanks Captain, they are lovely names.

I'm not too worried over the initials RIMV..... or am I missing something?

seaoflove · 08/05/2015 23:48

For anyone who doesn't know, rimming is a fairly niche sexual practice. It's really not a reason to avoid those particular initials. People on here waaaay overanalyse sometimes.

Now if it was A.R.S.E or something, that'd be different Wink

IvoryMadonna · 09/05/2015 11:47

I know what rimming means, but I didn't get the significance of RIM with Smith.

I think it's silly to focus on the forename initials anyway. RIMV is fine.
