Honestly... What do you think? I love it - not for the Shakespeare link but because it reminds me of a Cuban ballet dancer! Exotic yet pretty... DH hates it! Even as a middle name!

I love it but worry about the teasing potential
'I feel your...'
Hmm

rockinrobintweet · 15/04/2015 20:07

it's my favourite girls name ever, DH however wouldn't let me use it. since I have heard of so many being born however so am silently thankful.

it's beautiful. I like nn Effie and Leah. just such a gorgeous gorgeous name!

Rhubarbgarden · 15/04/2015 20:15

Not keen. It's a bit... dramatic for me.

britishbakeoffblues · 15/04/2015 20:33

I don't like it, sorry. ??

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 15/04/2015 20:37

Dislike it I'm afraid.. Just sounds a bit try hard

NotTheKitchenAgainPlease · 15/04/2015 20:40

It's a beautiful name but poor old Ophelia had a bit of a rough time. Also I immediately thought of Jamie Lee Curtis' prostitute role in Trading Places. It is lovely though.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 15/04/2015 20:40

Love it! Beautiful, elegant name

zoemaguire · 15/04/2015 20:48

Its beautiful but just too certain-kind-of-upper-middle-class for my taste!

Excitingtimesahead · 15/04/2015 21:34

I love it, it may make it's way on to my list.

Haven't had a serious name talk with hubby yet.

ExcitedA3 · 16/04/2015 08:52

A much more positive response than I expected tbh! I might try and convince DH for a middle name :)

Nice - pretty and unusual without being weird Grin

Earsareconstantlyringing · 16/04/2015 08:58

I absolutely love it - it's classic and so beautiful. I had to opt against it for my youngest as, paired with the names my children already had, it sounded frighteningly Boden-esque middle class....

CaspianSea · 16/04/2015 10:19

It's very pretty but has tragic association since Ophelia's character in Hamlet came to a bad end (she went mad when Hamlet rejected her and decided to decorate riverside trees with flowers, fell out of tree and drowned!) I associate Ophelia with the line 'get thee to a nunnery'!

fairgroundsnack · 16/04/2015 10:20

I like it! There is an Ophelia in my son's year one class

DramaAlpaca · 16/04/2015 10:32

I love it. DH would've exercised his veto, he hates it.
