Hi

I need some help naming our new born baby boy. The names we love are

Arain
Aaron
Arron

I know they are similar but i would love some feed back about which you prefer and why?

Many Thanks

Kim

Arain reminds me of the verb arraign. Is it pronounced the same?

Arron just looks looks misspelt

Aaron would be my choice.

Aaron

Not a fan of Arain, Aaron is good but there is also the alternative of Arran (as in the Scottish island). This would be my preference as, aside from Arran being an amazing place, it might stop people pronouncing it Air-on. Arron looks misspelt.

Aaron would be my choice. I've never seen the other two before, and Arron looks to me like a misspelling of Aaron.

Hakluyt · 15/04/2015 16:03

Aaron.

Because it's a name.

Or possibly Aran. Because it's a place, so also potentially a name.

IvoryMadonna · 15/04/2015 16:32

Yes, the Aran Islands off Galway, as well as the Scottish isle of Arran.

Aaron if you want the normal Church pronunciation (air-un) to if you want to honour a Jewish connection.

Arran if you want the 'arr-un' pronunciation.

I've not come across Arain before and don't really take to it (is it said 'arr-ayn'?)

Kittykatmacbill · 15/04/2015 19:24

Arran or Aaron the others look a bit misspelt.

Chancewouldbefinething · 15/04/2015 19:39

Aaron or Arran

Sophronia · 17/04/2015 11:16

Aaron or Arran (I pronounce these the same)

Hakluyt · 17/04/2015 13:10

Aaron and Arran/Aran are pronounced very differently.
