Any welsh speakers that can help with middle name confusion?

We are trying to decide on a middle name if we have another dd. I'm Welsh but don't speak fluent Welsh sadly.

We have a dd with a Welsh first name and Rose as her middle name. We have decided that we really like the name Thea as a first name for another girl so would like a Welsh middle name.

This is where the slight confusion comes in. We thought it would be lovely if we could use some sort of flower name (Welsh) and then thought maybe Rose but in Welsh, as a nice link to her sister. It seems that there are a couple of words for it so I wanted to see which one is correct or is there one that is more commonly used than others?

Alternately, does anyone know of any unusual flower names in Welsh that are pretty and maybe seasonal at the moment?

Good luck OP
I love the name Thea. And one of the loveliest women I've ever met had that name Smile
Although I'd call a girl Summer in English, to my ears Haf sounds like a boy's name.

Heulwen is sunshine, Gwawr is Dawn I think and Enfys is rainbow. I've heard all of these as names. Siriol is 'sparkling' I think.

Oh and Gwen is fair which I think is quite pretty. Not nature related but I do like the name Non...I think it would sound lovely with Thea. Hope you're ok OP! Look forward to seeing your next post!

Ye - Heulwen is gorgeous.
Looks like the OP might be busy. How lovely Smile

Yes Blush

Gwanwyn - Spring, or Awel, translates to something like breeze (except gentler! Something between air and breeze). I personally love Hafwen, or Lowri which I think translates to laurels.

Pob lwc OP!

Thank you everyone Smile

I'm having one of those really fun start stop labours! Regular strong contractions when I'm up and about, as soon as I lie down they stop. Obviously I need to sleep /rest so am just waiting for the baby to decide he or she wants to come out regardless of whether I'm standing up or lying down!

I hope the little one decides to make an entrance soon pickwick. Thanks for the update, I've been popping back to check for news!

Well it seems this thread is now redundant, as we had a little boy! Am in shock, didn't really expect a boy at all!

I'm off to trawl the historic boy name threads and see if anything grabs us Smile

Thank you for all your input.
