Baby girl due in summer

Marmaladedandelions · 12/04/2015 13:44

Barley fields
Soft summer twilights
Sun drenched orchards and afternoon tea
Blue ocean softly crashing on a deserted beach

I like nature names :) my DD was born in spring and has a nature name to do with this season.

Now I have thought OF Summer and keep coming back to it and Skye as well. I love Willow but it's out due to our surname.

Any other suggestions?

Daphne
Violet
Primrose
Daisy
Bluebell
Skye is also beautiful.

I love nature names too. If I have a daughter she will be one of the above Smile

IvoryMadonna · 12/04/2015 15:02

Hazel. Not particularly tied to a season, but I think it has a summery sound.

Snowflake15 · 12/04/2015 15:07

Love Skye

Ivy
Lily
Sofia (not particularly naturey but seems summery to me?)
Rosie/Rosemary/Rosalie

mrsnec · 12/04/2015 15:12

Melissa and jasmine fit your brief I think. I like the other suggestions too. I agree about Sofia but it was too popular for me to use.

IvoryMadonna · 12/04/2015 15:23

How about

Marisol (sea and sun)
Solange (sun angel)

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 12/04/2015 15:24

Daisy
Clementine
Wren
Primrose

TheOriginalWinkly · 12/04/2015 15:24

Lucy means light. DD was due around the time of the summer solstice :)

Lunastarfish · 12/04/2015 16:26

Fawn
Fern
Amaryllis
Ocean
Luna

Guin1 · 12/04/2015 17:07

Eliana (daughter of the sun)
Eleadora (gift of the sun)

Clover
Marina
Marigold
Dahlia
All seem summery to me Smile

Marmaladedandelions · 12/04/2015 17:16

Aw some lovely ones.

I love Clover but unfortunately already have a flora Hmm and I think I might have to avoid daisy for the same reason.

This baby will never have a name at this rate. Some I can see are lovely but for instance Melissa was the name of a screechy Scouse girl I knew once - I can never like it as a result! Grin

Linnet
Lark
Iris
Viola
Marguerite
Posy

OneMagnumisneverenough · 12/04/2015 17:54

Heather
Tanith
Tamar
Meadow

IvoryMadonna · 12/04/2015 18:03

So flower names are no good then? And a clue to how your surname sounds would be a help.

Marmaladedandelions · 12/04/2015 18:04

No flower names are lovely :) I like poppy and violet but they are very popular around here. Surname is one syllable W name.

Love Willow! How about Autumn, Iris, Ivy?

Not that keen on Summer or Skye tbh

BrightenMyNorthernSky · 12/04/2015 18:16

I love Flora.

Your brief is quite difficult! I also like Posy (from Josephine?) as suggested above.

Camille sounds very fresh and summery to me, although not a nature name, as does Amélie (wonder if I'm associating summer with childhood holidays in France?!).

Could you give her a fanciful summery middle name instead?

IvoryMadonna · 12/04/2015 18:17

Sorry, I thought you meant that you didn't want another flower name as you already have Flora.

Marmaladedandelions · 12/04/2015 18:17

Well, I want to give her my mums name as a middle name as DD1 has MILs name as her middle name (both ladies are dead.)

Flora is lovely but can see why clover doesn't work! It's difficult, poppy would be great as its s lovely summer flower. Maybe amber or saffron as golden summery colours? Or seasonal names maybe Julia or Augusta if she arrives in July/August

Marmaladedandelions · 12/04/2015 19:01

Amber is nice :) Amber and Flora ...?

OP posts:
rockinrobintweet · 12/04/2015 19:11

Lilac (nn Lily)
Sunny
Rae (as in Ray of sunlight)
Blu

I love the name Sunny, taught one once and she was simply gorgeous! I also think Blu is simple yet different- what's the middle name you want to use?

LaceyLee · 12/04/2015 19:15

Amber and flora sound good to me good luck with your dd

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 12/04/2015 19:36

Amber is nice.

What about rose?

I don't like Amelie - am reliably informed by French friends that it is the equivalent of Sharon and very déclassé over there. Mind you, apparently hortense is all the rage over there at the moment and I think that's quite horrific

burgatroyd · 12/04/2015 19:52

Blossom
Juniper
Suniva, Sunny for short
