Sibling for Edie

We are expecting a sibling for Edie Joan. I don't really want another 'E' name but am open to most other suggestions. I tend to prefer more traditional names, although my fave girl's names: Olive and Violet don't work as our surname contains a colour....
I like Ralph (Rafe) for a boy nn Ray and quite like Rae for a girl - although I'd want her to have a longer first name with Rae as a nn and can't think of anything other than Rachel (don't like) or Aurelia (also not keen on) which would shorten..
So, I've exhausted the baby name book and need some imaginative suggestions please!

My granny was Edie and her sister was Pearl, though that might not work with your colour surname. Her mother was Kitty, which is also nice.

Figuringitout · 13/04/2015 20:20

Thanks all - really like Harriet (hadn't thought of this at all) and love both Kitty and Pearl (esp as my mum is Margaret which means pearl).
Sadly DH has vetoed Pearl and my daughter immediately said, 'Hello Kitty?' when I mentioned Kitty.
My best friend is Freya (used to be really unusual!) but not really something I could use....
Hmmmm... I still just feel like I don't have the 'one'.

I have met a lady called Raymar. Not sure how it's spelt, but that's how it sounds.

I've just remembered, there was an Australian Olympic athlete called Raelene Boyle.

MaelstromOfLunacy · 13/04/2015 21:49

I know a Lorraine who shortens it to Rae.
