Middle name to go with Edward/Ted/Teddy

Expecting DC3 in 5 weeks and really struggling with names.
For a boy the only name DH & I both really agree on is Edward (but will use nn Ted/Teddy) but need to find a middle name that works with Edward & Ted/Teddy, so far we can only come up with Dexter or Alexander but unsure if it's a bit of a mouthful??
So options are:
Edward/Teddy Dexter
Edward/Teddy Alexander
DD1 has a pretty girly name & DS2 is called Max.
We have a one syllable surname beginning with C.
Honest opinions or alternative suggestions please.

George or Jorge

Love Teddy but would never of gone with our surname.

Thanks funnyface31 - George does sit nicely with Edward/Teddy, but never really considerd it as I used to be a massive Wham/George M fan back in the day (sad, I know!)& friends joked that when I gave birth to 1st DS I would call him George Andrew!! ( I wouldn't!) So I think I would always feel that using George would be paying homage to him which would feel a little bit wrong these days lol!
Although Georgia is actually on our girl list as I've always thought it sounds like a classic strong name
(& def nowt to do with George M!)

Edward James

Edward Alexander sounds better than Edward Dexter IMO. Or how about:

Arthur
Bernard
Orson

Artandco · 22/03/2015 09:32

Edward Alexander is lovely

Edward Lionel
Edward Zachary
Edward Sebastian
Edward Leon
Edward Franklin

My DS is Edward (Teddy) Peter. I wouldn't worry about the middle name going with the nickname TBH.

Blondie87 · 22/03/2015 09:43

Edward/Ted Alexander works best. Pregnant with my first child, a boy, and we have chosen Edward. Great name!

Giraffeski · 22/03/2015 09:46

Francis? I wouldn't worry about the middle name sounding good with Teddy but needs to sound good with Edward. Because you will most likely only use his middle name in conjunction with his formal first name IYSWIM.

Edward Louis
Edward William

Have you got any nice male relative names you could use?

DianeLockhart · 22/03/2015 13:05

Edward Alexander a good and I prefer it to Dexter. Was going to say Edward Joseph or Edward Hugo.

Thank you all - I agree Edward Alexander does sound better but Dh loves the idea of Teddy Dexter, but I feel he needs to be an Edward (but will be generally called Teddy) and Alexander does sit better with Edward.
Is there anyone out there with an Edward/Teddy? If so what middle name did you choose??

Thomas?

Artandco · 22/03/2015 19:39

I know one Teddy ( who's name is just Teddy not Edward), and his middle name Alvin which is Swedish I think. He has two middle names though but I can't remember the other

DoctorLawn · 22/03/2015 19:42

I have an Edward. His middle name is John.

florascotia · 22/03/2015 21:23

Wasn't there a very famous English cricketer called Ted Dexter???

thatdoreengirl · 22/03/2015 22:07

YES Flora there was! Just asked DH and he's remembered now... He is slightly put off by the Dexter bit now!
Still not 100% on Alexander for the middle name though... Any other thoughts mumsnetters??

You could have Teddy short for Theodore instead of Edward? I do like Edward Alexander though.
