Hi,

We have two DDs J.osephine and I.ris.

DS is due in a few weeks and we are now considering Henry (Harry as a nn).

How do you think it fits with our DDs?

And what opinion do you have on the name Henry itself? We were looking for a classic timeless name without sounding posh or old.

Thank you. Smile

I don't think that Harry is a nickname for Henry, rather, it is the way that Henry was pronounced in the distant past, and/pr an alternative form.

As another poster has said, Hal was the nickname for Harry/Henry by the 16th cent, Shakespeare's time.

I have a Henry, he was named after DH's grandad who went by the nickname Harry. We call him Henry though.

One thing to consider - there are loads in North London. It turns out it is very popular in pockets of the country.

Love Henry

Less keen on Harry but it's inoffensive

I don't like it.myself but you will not have any problems with it!

It's inoffensive, a little bland, but nothing wrong with that.
