We don't know what we're having. Girls name is easily sorted but no idea about boys names!
What names do Ivy's brothers you know have? Or what would be a good brother name?!

eatyourveg · 03/03/2015 19:51

I like Ned too but think Nathaniel (Nat) goes better with Ivy

Ivy and Jem (short for Jeremy)
Ivy and Jed (short for Jebediah)
Ivy and Mark
Ivy and Will/Bill
Ivy and Jim/James

Edward is growing on me and I never thought it would. I don't like the idea of a 'full' name and very different nickname which they're called. So if I went for Edward/Ned he would have to be called both equally. How likely is that?

Ivy and Theo (Theodore)

itssangriaoclock · 04/03/2015 08:04

Although Ned is a lovely nick name from Edward. I really don't like Ted/Teddy and they are so popular at the mo. That potential nn would really put me off Edward

TakeMeToTheMilk · 04/03/2015 08:30

Agreed - don't like Ed or Eddie at all and would never use Ted. So is Ed/die inevitable at some point if I used Edward as a full name?
Does anyone know a Ned who is just Ned?

I know a Ned, but he is an Edward. No-one calls him Edward. If he gets called Ned in school, from Reception age, it will stick.

amy0787 · 04/03/2015 12:17

Ivy I know has a brother called Eric

itssangriaoclock · 04/03/2015 18:43

If you like Ned there is no reason why he can't be registered Ned on the birth certificate

I know a Ned who is just that. Not as popular in Scotland I shouldn't think, stands for non educated delinquent.
