I am always changing my mind! What little girls name would you pick?
Children are called Charlie and Tilly.

Tessa or Tess (partner not as keen as me. He thinks it's too similar to Tilly)
Lucy
Daisy
Maisie
Mabel
Felicity

MN I would use would be
Margaret (OH granny)
Jane (which is my MN)
Emma (which is the same as Tilly's and is my sisters name)

Sorry for the long list, which name would you use, paired with what MN
Any other suggestions

Lucy Daisy or Maisie

Margaret or Jane.

I wouldnt use Emma again if Tilly already has it.

myotherusernameisbetter · 23/02/2015 16:23

I wouldn't have Daisy Jane as it's sounds too much like Daisy Chain :o

My favourite would be Mabel Jane with Felicity Margaret as a 2nd Choice.

reuset · 23/02/2015 16:52

Can't go wrong with Lucy

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 23/02/2015 18:32

Mabel-Jane.

cantmakecarrotcake · 23/02/2015 18:39

DD1 is Mabel Daisy

DD2 was nearly Lucie but ended up being Dulcie

So I like your list :-)

Rhubarbgarden · 23/02/2015 19:32

Mabel Jane

Nightstar · 23/02/2015 19:37

Well Daisy is supposed to be short for Margaret anyway, so I wouldn't use both of those together.

I think Lucy goes best with your other children, but Daisy and Maisie are both really nice and fit as well.

Definitely don't use the same middle name as your other daughter already has, that would make her feel like an after thought!

I agree with your partner about Tess/Tessa being too similar. Try saying the names out loud: Charlie, Tilly and Tess. It makes the girls sound like twins.

Is Tilly short for Matilda? If yes then I would also avoid the names that start with M as a first name, ruling out Maisie.

So I think your best name combo from the list (if you take out all the above for reasons given) is: Lucy Margaret or Felicity Jane (You can't have Daisy Jane - just say it out loud, lol)

ScaryChicken · 23/02/2015 23:12

I like
Tess/a
Lucy
Felicity

Not keen on the others (too cutesy for me)

For mns I'd go for Lucy Margaret or Felicity Jane. Tessa would go with either..

Is there a reason you want to use your sister's names as mn for them both?

Tessa & Tilly are very similar, but if Tessa is your definite favourite (and you can get your dh to agree) I wouldn't necessary rule it out

Sophronia · 23/02/2015 23:35

I like Mabel with Charlie and Tilly, Mabel Jane would be nice.

@Nightstar Tilly isn't short for Matilda, so Maisie would still work with the mn Jane.

@ScaryChicken and @Nightstar I only thought to use the same mn as Tilly's so that this child didn't feel left out. My mum gave me and my sister her mn of Jane, because she felt left out that her younger sister took her mum's (my gran's) mn.
So I thought having three mn to choose form that had family meaning, would be easier to make combos. I didn't see it as an after thought :)

So I could technically use Daisy Emma not Daisy Jane! I liked that Daisy and Maisie are diminutives of Margaret.

I also see what you mean @Nightstar about them sounding like twins, There is a book about twins Tilly and Tessa (I googled it). There would be a 7 year age gap between the so that would be a bit weird. Although still not ruling it out as they would lead their own lives when older :)

This is so much harder this time around!!

Ah, I see.

I think it's quite sweet for them to have the same mns if there is a family story behind it..

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 24/02/2015 17:42

Felicity Jane

verelab · 25/02/2015 19:38

Love Tessa/Tess and unusual these days. Think having two out of three names alliterated in the family isn't too bad - somehow having all of them would seem to match match though.

Goes very well with Margaret

Love Felicity too- but think out nicknames carefully as it will inevitably be shortened. Goes best with Jane.

Lucy Margaret nice too.

verelab · 25/02/2015 19:39

Sorry, that should be "too matchy matchy" above!

Hulafox · 27/02/2015 01:07

Hi there, what about Hazel?

BabyShallBeNameless · 27/02/2015 08:12

I think Lucy, Maisie or Daisy go best.

Mabel and Felicity don't seem to fit with your other DC's name so well.
