Hi,
We'd like to find a great name that works across most european languages. We love names like Agatha and Theodora -- can you think of others?

Edith.
In the UK we use "Ee" as the first syllable, in France and Germany they use "Ay". I knew a lovely German lady called Edie (pronounced Aydie)

I think Anna is your best bet, as loads of the others I have seen on this thread are considered really old-fashioned over here!

coffeenut · 09/02/2015 09:44

Lucia. Anna is boring.

brightreddress · 09/02/2015 11:14

fattycow where are you from? Which names are cool where you are?

fattycow · 09/02/2015 11:33

I'm from the Netherlands. Short names are really a trend at the moment. Emma and Eva are in the top 20, as are Tess, Sophie/Sofie and Julia.

coffeenut · 09/02/2015 11:44

Eva is a good one.

brightreddress · 09/02/2015 11:45

Yeah- I don't think I know anyone who doesn't have a child called Eva!! (seriously)

bexibean · 09/02/2015 19:43

Agreed. I think I know about two families who don't have an Eva, Eve or Evie.
