Back again, names for a boy

I posted a thread on here a while ago and pretty much decided on a girl's name, only to find out a couple of weeks ago that my baby is a boy.

DH is really not convinced on my first choice (Raphaël) because it reminds him of a song by a singer he hates so we are looking for alternatives.

So, DH is French, I am British, we live, and plan to remain, in France so want a name that will work well here but also be understood/pronouncable for my English-speaking family and friends.

Middle name will be Jack (family name), surname starts with P.

Edward, Andrew, Richard, David and Julian are out for various reasons.

Here's what I have so far (in no particular order):

Benoît
Charles
Samuel
Oscar
Théo
Clément
Gabriel (shortened to Gabe)
Nathaniel (shortened to Nate)
Reuben
Sébastian

Any thoughts?

Sebastian and Gabriel are my favourites

Thanks for answering.

I really like Gabriel too although I don't think DH is going to like it as there's no difference in pronunciation between the masculine and feminine versions in French.

Benoit is my fav but they're all great.

I really like Clément

MummyBeerest · 30/01/2015 21:38

I vote for Sebastian

I like Theo from your list, it's on my "list" too. Although my list only contains 2/3 names currently! Very difficult

SnowWhite33 · 02/02/2015 15:15

I vote for Nathaniel or Sebastian, both were on my shortlist too so im bias :)

My favourites are Samuel, Nathaniel and Sebastian. All good solid names.

For me, Charles has too many royal associations and Beniot and Clement are too French (but then I don't live in France!). Reuben sounds like a spoilt brat and is a bit effeminate to my ear.
