Names like Patrick

We're not planning another one for a few months but I've been pondering boys' names a bit just lately!

DS is Patrick and I love it, we get so many compliments on it. It's a family name and I like the shortenings ( he is mainly Patrick, but sometimes Paddy or Patchy). I like that it's a well known name but not heard too often.

I've no idea what we'd call a second boy though, does anyone have any suggestions? It feels wrong to use names we rejected last time (Arthur, Clement, Seamus and Gilbert), and I really want to find one I love as much as Patrick. I like Aidan, but his uncle is Adrian, and Rowan (but worried it is unisex). I love Gabriel but have a close relative so couldn't use it. I quite like Cillian too. We have close Irish connections but don't live there anymore so couldn't have anything with an Irish spelling.

Girls name set in stone would be Sylvie.

Niall? I've loved this for years after the footballer Niall Quinn, but I fear One Direction may have ruined it somewhat!

James, Peter, Matthew. Basically any saint's name. Where Patrick has a brother, the brother is also named after a saint.

I do like Niall (have a cousin called this but I never see him), love Joseph and Francis too and Owen. Lots to think about, hope no. 2 doesn't take as long as no. 1 (3 years!). X

I have a Kieran Patrick, and I always said if I had a second I would like to call him Aiden Connell. I know Aiden is out, but what about Connell?

I really like Aidan Connell but would prefer Conall or Conal spellings as Connell reads as a surname to me.

Fwiw I live in England and have a Cillian, we gets lots of compliments. Sometimes have to explain how it is pronounced if it is written down but only have to tell people once. Ciaran is lovely too. We also had Aiden on our list as well as Eoin and Declan
