We both love Rosie Esmée or Rosie Autumn we just can't decide which and are running out of time. Big sister is Molly Jane. Thanks

A vote for Esmee from me.

Dailylurker · 28/01/2015 20:19

I have a little Rosie Elizabeth and love her name.

I like both Rosie Esmee and Rosie autumn. Sorry that is probably not very helpful Smile

Bobby1234 · 28/01/2015 20:22

I love Rosie Elizabeth too, hubby doesn't :(

TBH neither, sorry. Rosie Esmee would turn into Rosieyesmee. And Rosie Autumn is a description - I think one name that is a word as well is ok, 2 not.

SirChenjin · 28/01/2015 20:27

Rosie Esmee at a push, although I think the endings are too similar with too many vowels - Rosie Autumn sounds like a paint colour.

Is the Esmee/Autumn going to be a middle name as opposed to you using both names as a first name?

RiverTam · 28/01/2015 20:37

Rosie Autumn is lovely but is a bit Glade plug-in (love that description!) as a PP said. And Rosie Esmee is too much likely the ghastly Renesmee in Twilight, plus I actually really don't like the Ez-may pronunciation, much prefer Ez-mee but obviously that would be daft.

Rosie Eliza, if DH doesn't like Elizabeth? Rosie Katherine?

RaisingMen · 28/01/2015 20:43

Sorry, I don't like either. Rosie Esmee is far too samey and Rosie Autumn sounds like an air freshener. Does she have to have a middle name?

Bobby1234 · 28/01/2015 21:02

I don't like Eliza or Katherine. I'm not much of a twighlight fan so don't know the characters names for it to put me off. I would prefer her to have a middle name like her big sister and cousins.

We maybe would consider Autumn as a first name but the oh is extremely picky

Autumn is a beautiful first name, as is Rosie x

EvaTheOptimist · 28/01/2015 21:14

Rosie Anna

Bobby1234 · 28/01/2015 21:15

I love Anna but it's grandmas name and I don't want to start ww3 by naming her after one gran and not the other

Lee! Joking Grin

Rosie is very difficult to team up unlike rose.

It does tend to be a bit descriptive...rosy summer, rosy may, rosy autumn etc. your names ^ quite sing songy.

Not sure what to suggest.

MummyBeerest · 28/01/2015 21:25

I like Rosie Autumn!

But I would be surprised to learn it's a February baby. But Rosie Valentine would be too much.

Bobby1234 · 28/01/2015 21:35

I would find it strange if a baby is named after the day, month or season they were born. It's like calling a Christmas baby Holly

OP posts:
MummyBeerest · 28/01/2015 21:39

I'd agree Grin

EvaTheOptimist · 28/01/2015 21:40

Ha! Fair enough re Grandma war. Molly Jane flows so well. Neither of your Rosie options flow as well.

But perhaps it doesn't matter, middle names are usually never heard after all. Have you done a check on what the different initials might spell?

EvaTheOptimist · 28/01/2015 21:43

Actually sometimes people only use the middle name's initial, eg First I Surname. So Rosie E Surname is quite hard to say, while Rosie A Surname is easier to say.

Therefore: Autumn!

Bobby1234 · 28/01/2015 22:05

Yep no I middle name as her initials would be RIP

But people do call Christmas babies Holly! The little Holly I know is a December baby.

Bobby1234 · 28/01/2015 22:25

Yes they do, I wouldnt, holly is a bad example maybe Noelle is better

I don't think Esmee or autumn flow especially well with Rosie, and on that basis I'd go for the name with meaning - Esmee.

TheRollingCrone · 28/01/2015 22:49

I love Rosie Esmee, I love Rosie... Just a thought, the only adult Rosie I know wishes her parents had given her Rose,Rosa,Rosamund rather than have people assume she is using what they consider to be a "pet" diminutive in a very professional arena.

Congratulations!

Bobby1234 · 29/01/2015 12:46

Hubby doesn't like any other for of Rosie, men can be very picky!!
