Not pregnant yet but planning for DC3 and already thinking of names!!! We have two DDs, Katherine and Sophia. We're pretty set on Alexander if it's a boy but stuck on girls names!

So,

Alexandra - I love the full name but not sure on nn Alex and don't like Lexi.

Helena - love the nn Nel and Leni/ Lenny. Do you think we could get away with nn Hetty as love this too? The funny thing with this name is that I don't like Helen and this is basically Helen with an 'a' although Helena does feel like a completely different name IYKWIM??

Georgina - DH less keen on this one but I love it so can't bring myself to remove it from the list and love nn Georgie.

I think each of these would fit with our other DDs' names but I have also thought of the following, possibly middle names if not first:

Esme
Iona
Fleur

All opinions greatly appreciated!

Xandra is worryingly close to Sandra. I like Alex for a girl, it's sharp and snappy.

Love Helena - dd was nearly this. Fleur was on our shortlist too.

Hate Georgina and Alexandra. They feel like long, cumbersome and unattractive names to me.

Helena

Xandra has a horribly harsh tone to it. And like a pp said, sounds like Sandra. Alex or Ally are much nicer and prettier (if pretty is what you're going for!). Alexandra is a very beautiful name. I have known two people called it, but none in DS's school, so hopefully it's not becoming too popular (it is on the list for planned dc3!).

Also know a Helena, pronounciation is Helen-uh. Hell-ay-ner or Hell-ee-ner are not very nice imo.

Helena is my favourite. A gorgeous name. Helen-uh or Hel-ay-na.
Not keen on Hel-ee-na though.

my friend Alexandra is known as Zandi to everyone...

the only Helena I know gets called "Hells Bells" behind her back because she has an "strong personality"

I have an Alexandra and had a lot of compliments about her name. We also considered Helena, but thought that Alexandra is more beautiful. Her nickname is Alexa or Allie. I'm not a huge fan of Georgina, and the three shorter names are nice, but I prefer your three longer options (also for middle names, as they are classical and strong).
