Opinions on names please

Could do with some opinions on these names please. I am very early so it's potentially pie on the sky at this stage but I'm trying to be positive.

Charlotte - Lottie for short. Love it but is it too popular, ie 3 or more Charlottes in a class?

Alexandra

Esmae - spelt like this on purpose as it was one of the acceptable spellings and would cancel out the is it pronounced Esmee or Esmay thing.

Harriet - Hettie for short
Evelyn - Eve or Evie for short.

I like them all apart from Esmae, which I think looks ugly, and Maxwell, which reminds me of the coffee. I prefer Hattie to Hettie.

I don't think your Charlotte would be one of three in her class. It has been popular for the last 25-30 years.

I'm not keen on the esmae spelling either. It looks clumpy to me.

I like Lottie which seems to be a timeless name; I know lotties in their 50's right down to age 2.

I love Alexander but it is popular. Dominic is nice and far less popular. Not keen on the other boys names.

My favourite girls name is Harriet. Charlotte is ok; I don't know any small ones. Esmae is clunky. Dislike Evelyn and Alexandra.

I like Arthur, Douglas could grow on me. Dominic is ok, I dislike Alexander and loathe Maxwell.

I like your lists! The only names I'm not keen on are Esmae (I can understand what you're trying to achieve, but I just don't think it looks as classy as Esmee iyswim) and Maxwell (sounds like a dog, sorry).

My favourites are Evelyn, Arthur and Douglas.

Charlotte was no 20 in 2013, about 2,500 born. You'd be pretty unlucky to get 3 on a class.

I'm afraid your boys names aren't really to my taste, but I think Alexandra is beautiful and classic with lovely nns too.

Love almost all of them! The only name on your girls list that we come across a LOT is Evie, there seem to be hundreds of them. I'd go with the traditional spelling of esme personally, we know an esme - don't most people know how it's pronounced anyway?
On the boys names, Alexander is my favourite, don't really like Dominic or maxwell (but like max).

Charlotte is not popular here, although Esmee is!

Aaaaah thank you . It's funny because I really liked the Esmae spelling but it's obviously jarring for everyone else. It's not at the top of the list so I'll see what I think if and when we get there.

Boys names - I struggle with DP to find ones we both like. Generally I like lots and he likes very few, so we have a limited selection currently. I really like Dougie but worry that Douglas is a bit too 'old maney'.

Probably my number one from each list is Charlotte and Arthur but I worry about the popularity of both. My son's name was about 99th when I named him and is now top 20 I think. I shouldn't care but I do, a bit.

I have a Charlotte. She's the only one in her class. Everyone who asks her name comments how beautiful it is. We shorten it to Charley though but she gets Charlotte in everyday life.

I love Alexander/Alexendra as well.

Charlotte - lovely classic name. I don't think its too popular, but who knows?
Alexandra - again, a classic.
Esmae - I understand your reasons for this spelling, but I have to side with everyone else as I don't like the way it looks. I love the name Esme though (especially pronounced Es-may)
Harriet - Nice, has stood the test of time. Not my number one favourite name but I do like the nickname Hettie.
Evelyn - Again, a traditional name. It has cute nicknames as well.

Alexander- love this name. Oddly prefer it to Alexandra! Very classic.
Arthur - great name.
Dominic- nice name.
Douglas - Really like is but it is a family name for me so perhaps I am biased. I have never really found a nickname I like for it though.
Maxwell- sorry, don't like it, but I don't have any reasons why.

I love Charlotte! Tbh I haven't heard it used for ages and if I have it has been used on women or olde girls, not babies. Evelyn is my second favourite for your girls names. Don't like the other names.

I love Charlotte & don't know any under 3. I know (my kids are at primary school & nursery school) a lot more Alexandras. Dominic was my favourite boys name ever, I've 3 daughters . Arthur, I know it seems to be well liked, but I just don't get it. Until about 3 years ago, I knew 2. One in their 70s and one in their 40s, neither was particularly fond of their name. There were 3 baby Arthurs in my youngests toddler group and 2 of my husbands work colleagues have under 2s called Arthur.

Really like Douglas, Alexander & Arthur, though not so keen on Dominic. Duncan is another Scottish name I am keen on too.

Harriet and Charlotte are both lovely! Know several grown up Charlottes and a Harriet but not any children with those names currently.
