I like Claudia and Jemima. Seraphina is nice too.

I love Blythe and like Willow.

Artandco · 21/12/2014 17:54

I like:

Margot Isadora
Penelope Margot

Dont like any of the official 'middle names' tbh, sorry

nicelyneurotic · 21/12/2014 18:24

Love Seraphina and like Isadora.

MadameJosephine · 21/12/2014 18:43

My favourite feom your list is Claudia, also like Hermione and Penelope. Not keen on the middle name choices, I would probably use Joan if it had a family connection but otherwise I would prefer Claudia Jane

AuntieStella · 21/12/2014 18:45

First name...
Claudia - which pronunciation? And do you mind the prospect of correcting people frequently? (would bother me a lot)
Georgiana - like
Matilda -like
Seraphina -ok
Hermione - like (but very HP)
Tabitha - lovely
Margot -OK (nice name, but still, has a touch if the Ledbetters about it)
Penelope - lovely
Jemima -lovely
Florence - OK
Beatrice - OK
Isadora - OK (if you keep her away from scarves)

Middle names...
Willow - not one I like, and also has a totally different vibe to the first names
Teal - gun dog
Joan - OK
Blythe - OK

skinnyamericano · 21/12/2014 18:50

Claudia - ok
Georgiana - quite nice
Matilda - love
Seraphina - like, but bit too different for me
Hermione - too HP
Tabitha -love
Margot - too 70s
Penelope - quite nice
Jemima - love
Florence - love
Beatrice - love
Isadora - ok

Not keen on your middle names, I'm afraid.

burgatroyd · 21/12/2014 18:50

Hermione, Isadora and Beatrice!

I've met one adult Hermione and her name made me smile. Isadora will fit in with the Isabella's only her name is quirkier. I love the meaning of Beatrice. Also like Tris or Bea as nn.

Blythe as middle.

Great list.

I don't like meaning of Claudia and it sounds like cloudier. Georgiana has pronunciation issues. Florence is very popular.

Sophronia · 21/12/2014 19:51

I like...

Claudia
Georgiana- prefer Georgina
Matilda
Seraphina
Hermione
Tabitha
Margot
Penelope
Jemima
Florence
Beatrice
Isadora - prefer Isidora

Willow
Joan
Blythe

Jemima Willow and Matilda Joan are nice.

CrispyFern · 21/12/2014 19:54

I don't like Seraphina. The others are nice. :)
Oh wait, I don't like Blythe either.

Guyropes · 21/12/2014 19:56

Cross out Georgiana and jemima... They're awful. The others are ok.

Twinklestar2 · 21/12/2014 19:57

Seraphina Teal! Lovely.

Lunastarfish · 21/12/2014 21:06

Claudia or Jemima. Joan as mn

Noodle1234 · 21/12/2014 22:57

Really interesting responses, thank you.

What's the thing about Isadora and scarves? Claudia would be with the claw pronunciation.

Harry Potter has been such a double edged sword for Hermione, it's become popularised and made accessible but is now also inextricably linked with HP :(

My husband has trimmed my list to:

Seraphina
Isadora
Matilda
Penelope
Tabitha
Beatrice

(In no particular order).

We already have a Felicity.

LeoandBoosmum · 21/12/2014 23:23

Teal? I've never heard that used as a name.

I dislike Tabitha...makes me think of cats and witches.

Isadora will likely become Izzy or Dora and I think they are unattractive names.
Matilda sounds like a spoilt, demanding madam!

I like Penelope (maybe shortened to Nell, but not Penny). Seraphina is pretty. I don't like any of the middle names. How about Seraphina Jade or Seraphina Rose?
I'll throw Persephone and Eponine into the mix as they sound along similar lines to the names already being considered.

CarriMarie · 21/12/2014 23:34

Tabitha Blythe or
Matilda Joan

AmeliaPeabody · 21/12/2014 23:39

Margot or Isadora Blythe.

I don't usually like Blythe, but think it's rather nice with those names.

Beangarda · 21/12/2014 23:44

Isadora Duncan, the dancer, was killed in the 20s when her long scarf caught in the axle of her car and broke her neck, OP.

I don't like Penelope, which always sounds prissy and bossy to me, but the others are perfectly nice.

PrintScreen · 22/12/2014 08:38

Isadora or Matilda. Both beityugul with many great diminutives.

PrintScreen · 22/12/2014 08:38

Beautiful!

baskingseals · 22/12/2014 08:40

Margot is lovely, bit I see it's got the axe. From your new list my favourite would be Beatrice.

Noodle1234 · 22/12/2014 09:04

LeoandBoosMum - have you had an unfortunate incident with a spoilt Matilda before then? :)

Not keen on Rose etc as a middle name, a bit status quo.

I forgot about Isadora Duncan, doesn't ruin the name though.

OP posts:
AmeliaPeabody · 22/12/2014 10:29

Agree that it doesn't ruin the name at all. Although there was great tragedy in her life (the loss of her children too, then her own decline latter latterly) she also led a very interesting and innovative life, too.

Artandco · 22/12/2014 10:36

How about Isadora Willa?

Noodle1234 · 22/12/2014 18:04

Yes, Isadora Wiila works nicely.

vomistheworst · 22/12/2014 18:33

I LOVE Margot.
