Twin Girls, looking for french names

Hello,

I'm having twins in May and I'm stuck on girls names. We already have a daughter named Amelie and I tend to gravitate towards french names. We had originally picked out Violet and Sofia but I've completely gone off Sofia as it's too popular (prefer unique names)

I've recently fallen in love with the name Miette but can't find any other names that would fit with it (Violet and Miette doesn't sound right together with the double 'et's).

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

My favourite girls name is Elodie. DS would have been Elodie if he had been a girl.

BTW do you mean Minette (my French is rusty but I think miette means crumb!)

Juliette & vivienne

Capucine is actually what I would go with if I thought people could pronounce it correctly, but it's unlikely. Love the nickname Capu

Ange (with an accented e but am on my phone)
Arley

Allalonenow · 07/12/2014 22:52

Mireille is lovely, and I also like Solange.

MonstrousRatbag · 07/12/2014 22:52

Mireille
Nicole
Therese
Alix

milkingmachine1 · 07/12/2014 22:53

What about Arianne ? I think it's such a lovely name which is known but not popular so you won't end up in the 'Sophia' situation again.

lardylump · 07/12/2014 22:53

Melody and Miette

outtolunchagain · 07/12/2014 22:54

Some lovely names here , what about Evangeline if you like Emmeline

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/12/2014 22:56

Amandine
Alizee
Heloise
Estelle

If you chose Violette, would you pronounce it in the English way (so round here would probably sound like Vi Lot) or Vee Oh Lett?

Miette does mean crumb, so you may want to rethink that one!
Minette is a cat's name.

TheCowThatLaughs · 07/12/2014 22:57

Virginie (not sure where accents should go)

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/12/2014 22:57

Alixe is also good.

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/12/2014 22:57

Virginie has no accents.

kisekae · 07/12/2014 22:58

I know it means crumb, but that doesn't put me off :P My sweet little crumb

SnowSpot · 07/12/2014 23:01

Raphaelle (with an 'umlaut' over the e)
Cleodie
Anouk
Manon

There are huge numbers of 'Marie-" names where I live. I love a little girl in my son's class called 'Marie-Soleil'.

ooooooooooooooohYessssssssssss · 07/12/2014 23:02

My DD2' middle name is lise Pronounced lease. I love it but were not sure enough to use it as a first name. Not sure if it's french or French canadian - I should probably check.

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/12/2014 23:02

She might not thank you for that when she's 30 though!

DD1 has a friend called Miel (Honey), who is French/American. I think that might be slightly better than being called Crumb.

SnowSpot · 07/12/2014 23:02

Loads of Alizee around here too. Love that name as well.
