Hi,
Looking for inspiration for our twin boys due January. Surname begins with P, so no Ps please!
Also not keen on A & A, etc. (thinking ahead to mail getting mixed up when they're older.)
Looking for quite traditional but not too twee Scottish names.
Thanks :)

Silent - I think we're both right, in a way! Eoin and Iain are both Gaelic forms of John. So far as I know, Eoin originated in Ireland but was also widely used in Scotland centuries ago. It continued in Ireland, but in Scotland was often replaced by Iain, and that version became 'traditional' in the sense that I thought the OP was asking for.
However, as you say, Eoin is now being used again in Scotland (13 in 2013, compared with 18 for Ian/Iain, which is out of fashion). So yes, it is indeed Scottish, too!
