I know a Polly, and a Pollyanna who goes by Polly.

I haven't met a Crazy Dave yet though - so that might be a good option if you want your child to be the only one with a particular name in her class? Grin

But now you've said Crazy Dave... I dunno. I am tempted...

ClashCityRocker · 29/11/2014 20:10

arse are you expecting? If so congratulations!

And I didn't realise Polly was short for Mary. I know a few Polly's and am now going to ask them if they're really Mary's.

So we've established Polly comes from Mary. Mary means 'beloved'.

You know what else means beloved? That's right people, it's David.

Therefore Polly can totally be a diminutive for Crazy Dave.

My niece is Polly. It's a beautiful name all on its own Smile

I've only ever thought it was a nickname for Mary.
