Jacob, Arthur, or Noah?

Which do you prefer, in order?

And which two go better together as a sib-set? (If I got to use in future)

For girls I like Thea and Phoebe but not sure which combos work best! :(

Thanks!

In order:

  1. Arthur
  2. Jacob
  3. Noah

I like Arthur and Jacob as a sibset.

Jacob
Noah
Arthur

Jacob & Noah as potential brothers

Thea & Phoebe both lovely names! Phoebe is on our list....

squoosh · 09/11/2014 02:06

Thea and Phoebe are both lovely.

Noah, Jacob and Arthur are all fine but I'd really avoid calling brothers Noah and Jacob unless you're big Jesus fans.

Burmama · 09/11/2014 02:31

I have cousins with all three of these names, amusingly enough. Arthur and Noah are brothers. Jacob is my favourite name though

burgatroyd · 09/11/2014 08:47

Arthur, Jacob, Noah

Bowlersarm · 09/11/2014 08:49

Noah, then Jacob.

I strongly dislike Arthur.

munchkin2902 · 09/11/2014 08:54

Noah is everywhere now - there'll be about four in his class. I like Jacob then Arthur.

WanderingTrolley1 · 09/11/2014 08:55

Jacob
Arthur
Noah

SanityClause · 09/11/2014 08:59

Jacob is apparently the 4th most popular boys' name in the UK, Arthur, 43rd and Noah, 13th.

I don't know if it matters to you how popular the names are. I do like Jacob and Noah. I don't like Arthur much, really. But I wouldn't use any of them, because they would be too much of a time.

I like Arthur. Good nicknames. Noah is nice, as is Jacob but I don't like nn jake. Popularity would bother me. I feel these names may date.

fancyacupoftea · 09/11/2014 13:42

If popularity doesn't matter, then I would go Noah, Jacob, Arthur. If it does then Arthur over the others (although I'm not that keen).

GinIsCalling · 09/11/2014 16:21

I really like all three. I would caution that Noah is v popular, there are three in my three-year-old son's class of 16. And we know four younger Noah's socially. I only know two (young) Arthurs and two (older) Jacobs.
But then again, nothing wrong with having a popular name.

Jacob

Arthur at a push

No no no to Noah. Irrationally detest this name, sorry.

Jacob (ds1's name, mostly Jacob, occasionally Jakey, never Jake)
Noah
Arthur

toptomatoes · 10/11/2014 06:59

We debated Jacob and Noah, went for Jacob, at least there are distinguishing nicknames if there's more than one. He's the only one of 60 in reception though. Not keen on Arthur.

ArsenicSoup · 10/11/2014 07:04

Arthur/Artie is lovely
Jacob/Jake is nice but peak Jake must have been reached
Noah - not keen

Blowmeonelastkiss · 10/11/2014 07:06

Noah, then Jacob, then Arthur.

Noah like it, Jacob too popular, Arthur too old-fashioned.
