These are our current main contenders for DC3. Any views? Thanks in advance.

I love Robin too! It would be a definite contender for us if it wasn't for our surname which makes it pretty much a no-no, sadly.

I love Seth and wanted it for DS - but vetoed vehemently by hubby and rest of family. Seems to be a marmite name.

Robin is my favourite of those. Seth - it isn't that I don't like it, but I panic when I see it as I can't say it without lisping terribly. It is almost painful for me to try, and I don't normally have a marked lisp much For that reason I'd avoid it, if your child has a lisp it will be a torment of a name.

SurfsUp1 · 04/11/2014 01:46

Robin!
Seth sounds like death to me.
Rory is a racing car - can't get past that I'm afraid.

mathanxiety · 04/11/2014 04:44

Rory or Robin, with Rory coming out ahead.

Seth is a name I think snakes would say, if snakes could talk.
Sssssssseth.

RunnerHasbeen · 04/11/2014 17:40

Robin is lovely, the other two can be depending where in the country you are, but sound bad in some accents. I suspect the Seth hatred is in areas where you might get Seff or another mangled version.

SeattleGraceMercyDeath · 04/11/2014 17:42

Rory. I have a rory and he is the coolest child ever. Ever so slightly bonkers but deffo a dude.

Takver · 04/11/2014 17:47

Robin, definitely.

"I have always wondered if Robin might be a bit cutesy for a grown man"

My uncle (ex-fireman, not at all cute) is a Robin, and it definitely suits him, though he also gets called Rob and Robbo.

CharmQuark · 05/11/2014 09:11

Seth is a great name, but depends on your surname to sound right. Not good with 'Smithson' for example. But Seth Lakeman sounds great.

And Robin. Not if your surname is Bird. Or Banks.

The 2 Seth's I know are in arty families.

Rory good too, probably the most conservative choice of the 3.

DecaffTastesWeird · 05/11/2014 11:20

Rory!

SuperFlyHigh · 05/11/2014 11:21

Robin

Allalonenow · 05/11/2014 11:26

Rory!

(though the Robin at the start of the thread is a sweetie)

TempsPerdu · 05/11/2014 13:48

Was going to come on and say I don't like the name Seth (too country bumpkin/Cold Comfort Farm for me), but then CharmQuark reminded me of Seth Lakeman, which sounds awesome - so perhaps it really does depend on the surname!

I'd still go for either Rory or Robin, though. Rory is more 'now', and quite trendy in some areas, while Robin is more retro and Enid Blytonesque. Both nice, but think Robin would just about win out for me.

RiverTam · 05/11/2014 13:50

Seth
Rory

really don't like Robin at all, sorry!

neverenoughwine · 05/11/2014 20:01

Seth or Rory for me

hashtagwhatever · 05/11/2014 20:04

Rory followed by Robin.

I really don't like seth personally

patronisingbitchinthewardrobe · 05/11/2014 20:14

seth.
rory.
most of the other names in the universe.
robin.

Surf25 · 05/11/2014 20:34

Rory would be my favourite from your options

VioletVelvet · 05/11/2014 20:44

I really like all three!
