Started the boy thread as I'm actually having a boy but have found reading it very interesting and would love to hear about girls' names too now! Plus it's a good predictor for the top 100 names for 2014 I reckon!

I know:

Sophie
Edie
Evie
Isla
Jessica

What strikes me with this list is the great variety of names.

With the boys' version, pretty much every list of 5 was:
Oscar/Oliver, Harry, some version of Toby, a name ending in "ie"(Archie/Bertie etc)

With the girls' list, there are surprisingly few duplicates and a much greater range.

I think it shows that, with boys' names, we are still choosing from a much smaller pool of names - we don't feel we can be as adventurous. It is more "socially acceptable" to give girls novel or "out-there" names.
