I'm in a bit of a pickle, I'm after inspiration for an unusual boys name, nothing ott like a celebrity would choose, but nothing boring or ordinary, any ideas? Please

Btw Toby/Tobias (which some have suggested) is no longer unusual. Yesterday in the playground, there were 4! Think it's very much on the rise.

Corvid (okay, so not technically a name, it's the word for the crow family of birds, but I really liked it and I would have used Corky for short!)

Corbin is the more traditional boy's name that shares the same linguistic root as the crow family.

rocketqueencass · 04/11/2014 10:55

My boys are Spencer, Ellis and Holden.
I think they're unusual but not outrageous - although Ellis is quite popular around here now.

Axl, Hudson, Saul, Dalton, Zephyr, Saul, Cedar, Magnus, Stellan, Niall, Milton?

devoncreamtea · 04/11/2014 12:03

Any nearer choosing OP?

baby5- we chose Rex for our DS (1 yr old) and this was only shortly after Fearne had her Rex. Shes hardly A list huge but stylish and quirky anyone who did know she had also chosen it commented with a nice smile as in " good choice". I adore the name, am so glad I stuck by something unusual( & IMO pretty cool!) name l, its had the most amazingly positive comments and suits our boy- who I feel already is sipalyign signs of being creative, chilled and brilliant (well, I would say that) partly because he has this name! Hope you go for it if you like it

sorry for horrendous typos! Better version- baby5- we chose Rex for our DS (1 yr old) and this was only shortly after Fearne had her Rex. She’s hardly A list huge but stylish and quirky anyone who did know she had also chosen it commented with a nice smile as in " good choice". I adore the name, am so glad we stuck by something unusual( & IMO pretty cool!) name - it’s had the most amazingly positive comments and suits our boy- who I feel already is displaying signs of being creative, chilled and brilliant (well, I would say that) partly because he has this name! Sacha is a boys name, Sasha is not.

serin · 18/11/2014 22:18

Rex sounds v cool.

I know a 16yr old Fox, he is supercool too.

tammytoby · 19/11/2014 16:37

"Sacha is a boys name, Sasha is not."

No! Sacha is the French version (as they pronounce ch as sh like chat) whereas Sasha//Russion is the English version and Sascha is the German version). All boys namd and in Germany, Sascha is only allowed to be used for a boy.

HenriettaTurkey · 19/11/2014 16:40

My friend has a little boy called Atticus. I love it!

tammytoby · 19/11/2014 16:40
